Adventures in the Chaos Scar {Adventure One: Stick in the Mud}

The monk moves with unmatched grace and balance among the remains of the caravan, and closes to what is left from the wagon. She intents to spot anything out of place, for example, goods that which have not been taken, anything left by the assailants.
Sitha remains silent as usual, as she inspects the remains, in deaf respect for the dead.

Upon inspecting her surroundings Sitha notes a couple suspicious mounds of dirt. Suspicious due mostly from their odd reddish color. They are not much more then a foot or so long and perhaps half as wide and relatively flat rising no more then a half inch from the cracked ground.

Picking out one of the splintered spearheads, Torash shakes his head in confusion. These bandits aren't the usual sort, he grumbles to the others. Their weaponry is far less advanced than it should be. Perhaps we're looking for a savage species.

The assassin is somewhat out of his zone in this area and leaves the others to start the initial investigations.

When Torash anounces his findings he heads over to where Sitha is investigating the ground and scans the area to see if anything else is out of place (Perception = 15)

Chaihana looks at the stone weaponry with interest. Even orc and goblin tribes use metal weaponry. Only the most primitive groups would still use stone.

[sblock="OOC"]This might be a stretch for the skill, but I'll try it.http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2318748/[/sblock]

Ruz spots several more of these spots of dirt. Some leading into the treeline.

Chaihana knows for certain that there is no tribes indigenous to the area that still uses flint or stone weaponry. Hill Giants and Ogres might but their mountian homes are quite a distance away.

"Perhaps we should follow these mud prints, and search a muddy area, from where the attackers might have come from" Suggests the monk

Kyriel says nothing at first. She drifts lazily around the wagons, and goes over to Ruz when she sees him staring at the ground. There she peers down at the strange dirt piles as well...

"Strange," she said in her resonant voice. "Yet...perhaps familiar... Give me a moment to recall."

(Arcana check, using Memory of 1000 Lifetimes! Check result: 19+6 = 25!)

Kyriel looks at the red-tinted soil and her mind drifts back to another time, another lifetime, where she was a sage who resided in a place called the Sigil.
The dirt, though caked dry from the sun, seems to be mud from the Elemental Planes.

Chaihana wanders over to look at Sitha's findings. I don't think it's a group that's been in the area before. No-one local uses weapons like this. But if this mud is something unusual, then I think it might be associated with these visitors. Could they need it for some reason? Though if we can follow a trail of it, perhaps it doesn't matter.
