Ugh. Regardless of WotC weak retcon with 4E, Eberron doesn't connect elsewhere except its own plane. I wasn't pleased with the idea with Ata's character, and I'm in general pretty against it. If you want to be someone without a lot of familiarity with Khorvaire (Eberron's main continent, and where Sharn is), there are ways:
- Q'Barran jungle dragonborn/kobold
- Seren human barbarian
- Someone touched by the Day of Mourning that has memory problems (aka, your Cyran expat).

Those are all fine ideas... another, is the eladrin cities that have gotten marooned on the material plane since the Mourning. That'd definitely work for an eladrin swordmage, or any other character you can come up with a fey background for. (Maybe this is part of the "weak retcon" stonegod mentioned? But it is there in the setting in any case.)

And they're golems, not robots. Big difference. :)
Dammit! I got my hopes up!

That's a good one. They've been coming and going for a while. Eladrin, elves that decided to migrate back, or gnomes all fit there.

The "weak retcon" is the sentence in the Manual of the Planes that suggests that if one goes far enough in the Astral Sea you'll get to another setting/cosmology. Spelljammer might have been fun, but its not Eberron.[1]

[1] I understand why WotC put that line in there, but setting crossovers aren't spiffy in my mind unless the setting is designed for it. FR is. Eberron is not. L4W is (in a one-way-direction sort of way).

We can have as many players as we want, but without DMs, its moot. Talking about 3 characters is way to premature at this point, methinks.

Yes, I know. That is why initially I didn't want to bring it up until PHB3 comes out. Everybody that wants to would have second characters by that point. With the shiny new material it would allow people to keep their current two characters(thus not lessening the amount of PCs), and play something "new and cool".

In my game after the skill challenge and next encounter those who are part of the original team will be able to level-up.

Woo-hoo! Now I have to decide what I'm going to make! What is needed in Eberron? Do we have an active player census for LEB?

We need characters that aren't Feylocks or Drow Sorcerers.

Damnit! I just finished getting my Feylock approved! ;)

I was originally going to go with a Druid or Invoker, but people ended up talking me into going Feylock instead, roflmao. I really liked the flavor and I've got a decent RP hook, unless... um... her history is impossible, but now I'm anxious to play her.

I forget what the latest census was. I'll go see if I can find where Renau posted it.

Edit:
There's a slightly outdated census for whoever was looking for one. http://www.enworld.org/forum/attach...leb-discussion-thread-09-census-10.13.09-.xls
