January 2010 Editorial Calendar

The January 2010 editorial calendar is up at the WotC website. There is only one class essentials article (the invoker) but a bunch of class acts (ranger, wizard, warden, bard, and artificer, and shaman; as an artificer player, I'm stoked by the new support for my character's class). I'm curious as to what "The Art of Binding" refers too, I'm guessing a feature article on vestige pact warlocks. In Dungeon, the "Red Shoals of Dakar" sounds interesting and I'm looking forward to another Domain of Dread.

Edit: I just noticed that hybrids will be the PHB3 content this month.

It's about time they have a Winning Races: Human article.

I'm always interested in more material on Warlocks too.

As this will be the 3rd time we've seen Hybrids, I hope they've made "Hybrid Ability" something you don't have to get with a must have feat. And they've introduced some new material, at least something like feats specifically for hybrids, and the hybrid versions for the Artificer, Monk, Psion, Ardent and Seeker at least.

I'm glad to see there will be four MPII excerpts there. I am still on the line about buying the book, and am hoping there is a good ranged/thrown fighter or rogue set of powers there.

I was looking over the calendar, looking for this month's Eberron content. I wonder if the "Art of Binding" article refers to elemental binding instead of vestigate pact warlocks? I guess we'll have to wait for the Table of Contents.

Hey, the very first Shaman article! Sweet. Hopefully the Dwarf and Human articles will have fun stuff, too.

Weird that they don't mention the CB/Compendium updates, I suppose they'll be on the 19th?

A few things that stand out for me:

Devotees of the Gibbous Moon - hopefully a warlock pc organisation.

Sealing the Pact - this would be the DMs side of the excellent Performing the Pact article from November

PHB3 Hybrid, seems to be the preview material. Will be interesting to see how it developed during playtest

The Art of Binding, consider me intrigued.

...I notice that the Underdark and Dragonborn art galleries are listed as free. A mistake, or did they actually listen to the complaints?

It won't be, if you notice it's a dragon article, not dungeon, thus it's just player content not DM. So likely it'll just be items and maybe a feat.

Sucks too cuz one of my players is a devotee of Kord
