Hello everyone.
I am a complete rookie here, although I visit sometimes for some quick answers about D&D4 rules.
Since I started playing D&D4, I was eager to see what WoTC had in the sleeves for the Monk class. However, I was a lot disappointed to see what became of the (maybe) most controversial D&D class ever born. First, the change of power source (just for not being westernized?), then Flurry of Blows seemed no more a flurry or blows anymore. And now, not more use for unarmed, since being a "weapon", cannot be employed with any of the powers (at least counting as a weapon)!
Then I came with an idea. If maybe in PHB3 they released a monk multiclass feat allowing any other character make use of the monk unarmed strike, we would be able to make monklike oldschool characters that fight with bare hands! I even worked on a character multihit that fights barehanded.
Well... there were no such feat in PHB3. I even thought on having hybrid with monk, but it would be forever attached to powers I would have no use for, since only Rogue use weapons in melee using Dex... and NOT allows empty hands as legal weapons. Not fair!
There's another month coming, and new months means brand new Dragon Magazine releases. If there's a chance to improve things a bit, I would take. And here I am.
Here's a suggestion for Wizards: A new multiclass feat for multiclass monks. I think it is very reasonable and down-to-earth. Since I am new here, here I will post my thread in hopes it is in the right place, read and commented enough for helping people like me, who made all the way here to put some of themselves in making D&D better a bit.
"Stone Fist Training
[Multiclass Monk]
Prerequisites: Str 13, Dex 13
Benefit: You gain proficience with monk's unarmed strike. It works like the monk's Unarmed Combatant class feature (PHB3 pg. 63)
In addition, you can use monk's implements with your unarmed strikes."
So, what you guys think? Good enough for next issue of Dragon Magazine? need fix?
I thanks beforehand for any help and support!
