Lord Ogglebottoms Odd Tasks: All in a Nights Work (DM: DMDanW, Judge: Renau1g)

Thanks Ozy - as you can see I asked you guys to also track your stats for a very good reason - when I get busy I can get somewhat forgetful and I have been very busy lately.

[sblock=OOC]Looks like I'm going to have to forfeit my readied action, because almost everybody's out of range. Is it possible to shift into H20 from here?[/sblock]

Tomalak - Yes you can shift to H20 as most of that square is open, but keep in mind there is a column at the lower intersection of H20, which could possibly hinder further movement opportunities.

As for your readied action, it may be quite hard for that tactic to work with these guys, as they seem to like to move around the battlefield quite a bit and it may be tough to keep them in range.

In this situation one of them would take the OA on you and one would not.....but I can't very well tell you which one would now can I. What I suggest is when you post your action put in a 'if' sblock. So say Gellan was going to move past bad guy A you would just put in your action and in a sblock you'd put in the 'if bad guy A takes the OA' and have the results in there. It will only count if that is the bad guy that is willing to make the attack.

I can't think of any other way that is fair and to keep the suspense of the unknown in the game. So much of the unknown is already taken out by having the bad guy hit points and defenses posted that I would like to keep what I can in.

Sound good to you?

[/sblock]

OOC: Sounds good.

Gellan snarls in fury as his prey scatters around him, then a cry from Minharath brings his attention back to the world. "Hey Priest! You need a hand back there?" he shouts as he weaves his way through the room, the spirit of the great cat speeding his movements. A quick swing at the mace-wielding human is blocked, however, and Gellan snarls yet again.

..and you choose poorly...It was Pugg, the goblin Brute who is brave (or possibly foolish) enough to risk the OA on you. Gellan is now at 7 hit points, bloodied and facing off against Jhob. On the bright side you are right beside your healing machine cleric.
[/SBLOCK]

As Gellan moves past Pugg, the goblin howls in delight and swings out at him with his battleaxe, catching Gellan in the back as he passes by. A second later Pugg howls again, this time in pain, as wisps of violet smoke seem to seep out of his ears and nostrils and he shakes slightly from an unseen pain.

[sblock=updated stats]
Gellan is now at 7 hit points and bloodied.
Pugg takes 5 points of damage from Divine sanction and is now at 40 hit points

Thorn lashes out at his enemy but his wounds cause him to miss. Thorn bites throught the pain and spins his spear in another wide arc, this time hitting L'Orin, albeit weakly.

[sblock=mechanics]
Standard: Reaping Strike against L'Orin.
1d20+7 (vs. AC)=9 a wild miss.
Action Point (1of2) for another standard action: he tries that again:
1d20+7 (vs. AC)=20 a hit!
1d10+6 (damage)=8 damage including +2 for longtooth shifting. This brings L'Orin from 23 hp to 15 hp.
Free - he keeps his combat challenge on L'Orin

"Your fight is with me, Orc!" tells Gloom as he swings at Pugg. The orc received a solide blow that send him over 15 feet away, landing on his feet next to Thorn.

Gloom then join Zharne. "Regroup, I'll hold them up while you join Min." His blade burst into fire and Gloom slash at Karl who is heavily burned and his clothes burst into fire.

[SBLOCK=OOC]Minor: Ardent Vow
Standard: Divine Pursuit (1d20+9=19, 2d8+16=21) Hit for 21 damage. He is under my divine sanction. He is pushed to M21. Gloom doesn't follow.
Move: Walk to K26
Action Point: Blazing Brand vs. Fort on Karl (1d20+9=24, 2d8+7=14) Hit! He takes 14 fire damage, ongoing 5 fire damage and grant CA to any of my ally adjacent to him (save ends both). All this damage is lethal, I hardly see fire doing non-lethal damage.[/SBLOCK]
