STARGATE UNIVERSE # 19:Incursion (1)/Season 1/2010

I don't think that the ship directly disintegrated that guy. I think the shields acting up was definitely the clue. The Destiny is probably flying into a dangerous stretch of space, and the shields were unable to protect from a burst of radiation or something like that. However, the Destiny is acting oddly at the moment. I think that there is a chance that it is up to something, though not necessarily in anyone's favor. At this point, I wouldn't attribute any action the Destiny takes to Franklin. The Destiny has always acted according to its own will, or programming, or whatever it is that drives it.

EDIT: I wonder what was inside those strange cylinders in the room Eli and Chloe ended up in. They wouldn't build a strange set like that just for the two to sit down and have a conversation in for a minute or two. This whole lost section of the ship will probably be important for the next season.

The hell.

Hulu won't have this episode for another week.

It's already been a week! Who the hell is scheduling the vids for them?!

My feeling too, or at least the internal defense grid. Think the ship picks up the 'gene' the Lucian Alliance does not have it.

The elevator MAY be ring tech.
If I understood correctly, the Destiny predates ancient use of ancient gene test - I think it was a precaution against the Wraith.
Only very few human actually have he ancient gene, and I have doubts that every member of the Destiny team has gotten the gene therapy for its use. And either way - the chances of the Lucians having it should be the same as for humans. So I figure it's not that.

There was no episode on last week, on May 28; I think SyFy had a Memorial Day weekend-long marathon of movies or something. I think they've been delaying the Hulu-casts by a week for a while, right? You haven't missed anything.

Yes and no, SG teams have been getting the genes as SOP. There seems to be two types of ancient tech, post reboot and after reboot. The Destiny is post boot but could be seen as a missing link, that one major jump in tech that leads to so much more.

The LA is just a priate confedration that stepped in to grab power. They should be falling apart.

I like the Lucian Alliance attack more than I thought. ;)

Youngs hesitation to vent the room was of course a bad move. Writing-wise, I would have handled it differently - let the Lucian Alliance get inside with their masks already on - everyone except Telford/Rush. That would have been a lot safer, ultimately. (Or maybe it wouldn't - travel from the milky way to the destiny gate seems very violent, it could damage the equipment?).

It seemed like the preparations against the attack were highly optimistic in any case, and the only reason the LA went through as unprepared as they did was that they had no choice. If they'd been able to get a stable wormhole going before Carter's cruiser showed up, there are several easy ways they could've taken care of the Destiny's crew while leaving the ship intact. My guess would've been lobbing a high-intensity radiological device through first, then redialling after it shut down to go in and clean up the corpses.

Really, leaving the world's best 9th-chevron scientist in the hands of people with effective brainwashing technology for that long can't be seen as anything less than an incredibly foolish risk. At the very least, Telford was right in telling Young to pull the plug as soon as he was deprogrammed.
