[Adventure] Marna is Missing (DM: pacdidj, Judge: renau1g)

Looks like they left in a hurry and are hiding in the big house. Alnar says in an unusual act of perception.

Hello, anyone here? We mean you no harm, Cyr is here with us. He shouts.

"Silence may be wiser course right now, we don't see WHY they hid there if that is what they did.

Wisdom comes not from talking, but from listening."

Following his own advice he stands stock still eyes sweeping in details of the village and ears straining to hear beyond sounds of his companions.

Perception (1d20+11=26)

Cyr steps slightly aside from his companions to better focus on his surroundings
OOC: and avoid fireball formation :)

OOC: Is there any sign of struggle? Blood? Maybe they didn't hide themselves, but were herded there? How about normal sounds of the jungle?

[sblock=perception 14]Roll here. I look up also. ;)[/sblock]
Jezebel peers from a distance at the windows of the big house once Alnar points it out.

"Isn't it obvious? They've been found out after stealing the marna. Only guilty people would run at our approach." She steps closer to the door, still watching the windows carefully. Jezebel then stops and calls back to the group, with a definite patronizing tone to her voice. "Oh, Sir Existen! I would not want to walk into a trap all by myself. Perhaps you could break the door down so we can confront the thieves together?"

Hold on a minute. We are not going to be killing anyone unless we are sure they deserve it. That includes smashing down their door. Give them a chance to come out first. Alnar says to the Tiefling

Look around will you? Alnar matters to Draco, who flys off to invistigate the village. Something is not right here...

SIR EXSIXTEN LEADS THE GROUP ONWARD TOWARDS THEIR FOUL FOE, EVER SURE THAT - OH, WE ARE HERE! SIR EXSIXTEN HAS BROUGHT THE CITIZENS SAFELY FROM THE SWAMP OF SORROW TO THE HUT OF... HUNTING... DOWN THE ENEMY!

Sir Exsixten walks into the middle of the village and bellows at maximum volume.

WARLOCK, WE KNOW YOU ARE HERE. SHOW YOURSELF SO WE CAN TOPPLE YOUR CURSED TOWER OF WICKEDNESS. SIR EXSIXTEN AND THE CITIZENS OF JUSTICE CLAIM YOUR SOUL, THE WAY YOU HARVEST THE SOULS OF OTHERS - THOUGH WE MAY HAVE TO BORROW YOUR SOUL-HARVESTING EQUIPMENT TO DO SO!

He seems to somehow hear Cyr's comments over his own voice.

ONLY EVIL HIDES IN THE SHADOWS, SIR EXSIXTEN HIDES FROM NO MAN, OR GNOME, OR ANY OF A MYRIAD OF OTHER DEFINABLE HUMANOID, BESTIAL, OR ABBERANT CLASSIFIABLE ORGANISMS. WISDOM COMES FROM DRAWING OUT THE VILLAIN WITH STINGING VINDICTIVE INVECTIVE THEN PUTTING YOUR AXE IN HIS FACE BEFORE HE CAN UTTER THE WORDS FOR THE SPELL THAT WILL EXPLODE IN THE MIDST OF YOUR HOPES AND DREAMS!

He walks up to the door of the hut. THIS TOWER IS STUMPY! SIR EXSIXTEN WAS HOPING FOR SOMETHING MORE GRAND AND OMINOUS. He readies his shield and axe. YOU MAY THINK HIDING IN YOUR TOWER WILL SAVE YOU, BUT CONSIDER YOURSELF UNDER SIEGE! He pauses for approximately three seconds. THIS SIEGE HAS GONE ON LONG ENOUGH, YOU HAD YOUR WARNING. CITIZENS, WE ASSAULT NOW!

Sir Exsixten kicks down the door. If it doesn't go, he body-slams it and hacks at it with his axe until he's in.

And you said I was loud? Alnar says to Cyr.

Edit: Alnar steps through the door (if it is down) and gets ready to use his skills of diplomacy as damage control.

Jezebel smiles broadly while waiting for Sir Exsixten to finish destroying the door.

[sblock=Iron Sky]I have nothing to add except that I love Sir X610. :)[/sblock]

I curse the moment I flipped that switch :) Since he doesn't sleep one cannot just switch him off, you have to carefuly place few choice area spells at opportune moments to silence him :p

He reminds me of certain half-orc of Mal Malenkirks, his debut was in Can Dextyr keep all this strikers alive

The Village of Laughing Glade

Sir Exsixten handily dispatches the door with a few swings of his war axe. And as Alnar strides through the besplintered portal, a voice emanates from nowhere, saying "Go away! There's no one here, and... oh, it's you."

A middle aged gnome reverse fades into sight. His head is covered in a messy and slightly greasy mop of grey curls, and his eyes are shielded by a pair of thick spectacles. He wears a rust-stained white(?) button up shirt with the sleeves rolled up, and he smells faintly of flammable chemicals. He looks straight at Cyr, and then at Sir Exsixten, both standing in the now-ruined doorway to the large house, "I see you've managed to recover my mechanical knight," he says, a mixture of pleasure and slight exasperation evident on his face, "seems a touch more overzealous though, might need a slight adjustment to the volition circuits, hmm..."

In the middle of considering potential repairs or improvements to Sir Exsixten though, the gnome notices the rest of the party, and his brow furrows, his face taking on a distinctly suspicious expression. "But, see here! Who are these people, why have you brought them, and how do I know I can trust them? This isn't the lost party from Daunton," Raising a hand and pointing at Ferris he continues, "That one's a shifter for crying out loud! Why would you want to bring him here, unless you're in league with..."

His incipient tirade is interrupted by the appearance of another gnome. He is older and much more respectable looking, with neatly manicured white hair and beard, and well-cared-for, elegant robes accented with a cleric's stole. "Peace, Fizzenden. It is my student Ferris, returned to me after his voyage off the Isle. Welcome back my son. Though, I must say, I didn't expect you back quite so soon," says the elderly gnome who Ferris recognizes as his teacher Hyrellon. Several more gnomes fade back into view behind the cleric after he makes his appearance. There is a family with several small children, a portly gnome wearing cover-alls and gardening gloves, and a young couple holding hands and looking at you fearfully.

"Ah, yes you're right," says Fizzenden, "Don't know why I didn't recognize the lad. Well, he's alright I suppose. A bit addled if I remember correctly, but not malicious like those fiends who follow Snarl. But, see here! We've had more than our fair share of visitors lately, and they've been anything but model guests. What are you people doing here, and what do you want from us, and why have you broken down my door sir knight? Don't you recognize my house?," the gnome leader asks querulously, peering at your party through his thick lenses.
