My understanding is that the reaction you're having is the reason he's there, to play against expectations. He turns out to be a Megele-esque doctor, so his function is likely to provide insight on the aliens, not tote a minigun.Wait a minute, Topher Grace is in this? Adrian Brody I can accept, but Topher friggin' Grace?
I'm not sure I catch your drift. The first movie had a bunch of musclebound guys. Is that what it takes to look the part?CrimsonReaver said:Admittedly, the original Predator didn't have much in the way of plot or character development, but you had legitimately imposing actors who absolutely looked the role.
I think part of the reason the trailer disappoints me is that my expectations were unreasonably inflated. And I blame Rodriguez for that, saying how he titled the movie Predators to draw a parallel to Aliens. That trailer most definitely does not promise a similar caliber of awesome. At best, it looks closer in quality to Alien Resurrection. And that's not a good thing.
Me too!I feel no shame is being excited about Predators. I am also a sucker for the Alien and Predator franchise(s).
Too bad the thread-forking option is gone. I'm tempted to start a new thread called "Has Robert Rodrigez made any movies that were really all that good?" I really want to like them, what with him being this rebel independent filmmaker and all, but for the most part it just hasn't happened.
