D&D 4E Essential 4e: Heroes of the Forgotten Lands

So are there other wizard dailies that have been tweaked in some way? We've heard encounter powers would get the half damage treatment, but I'm curious what kind of changes were made to dailies if any.

As I said, I want the core classes and rules, only without having to print out (and write it all in the books) hundreds of pages. ....Again, If WoTC wants me -- and other people like me -- as customers, they should reprint the core rule books.

So you want an essentially complete package for the price of a portion?

And you want Wizards to believe "you'll" buy updated/reprintedversions of books you didn't buy in teh first place?

D&D Essentials: Essentially just another thing to nerdrage about.

I actually expected it to be 5d6 and knocked prone.
With the retro-vibe of the Essentials updates, 5d6 would make sense, since when you picked up fireball in AD&D at 5th level, you did 5d6 damage.
That's where the Int modifier comes in. It fills the spot of the fifth d6. :D

Being disappointed and expressing critical opinions counts as raging?

Well, at least I've tried to point out *why* I feel the way I do.

I think there are quite a few people who were sitting on the fence or a bit leery about 4E when it came out; some of those people (myself included) might have become interested in trying out 4E during the last two years, but implementing all that errata by yourself is just not worth the price. Add in the new customers who'd rather have the "complete" game with rituals and classic 4E classes plus those existing gamers who'd like to get "fresh" copies of errated books. Believe me, it's not just me.

Besides, what would I need to play and run Essentials? 'The DM's Kit', 'Monster Vault' and the 'Heroes of...' books, which all add up to around 100 bucks (or euros) for a "portion of the rules", right? I'd much rather have the three core rulebooks, with errata included, for that same price.

I thought this thread was the one where we ask questions directly related to the contents and wording of Heroes of the Forgotten Lands and then the guy with the book looks it up and gives us an answer?

The last 5 or 6 pages have been arguments about how efficient fireball isn't and ridiculous assumptions as to what Essentials could've been based on expectations borne out of personal preference and completely contradicted by all of the previews we've been given to date. (But hey, it's never too late to complain, right?)

On topic:
Have any of the non-attack Utility powers stood out as completely new? If so, can you spoil some of them for us?

Also, is Divine Cleansing, in fact, a cure disease/remove curse as its name might suggest? Or is it something else?

Primal, a few pages ago you had the sudden flash of insight that this thread is about the content of the Essentials series and not your content with it.

Stop it, or use any of the 500 other Essentials threads. I'm absolutely not interested in your opionion here, and I'm not the first.

Who. Cares. I. don't.

I don't know if Fiery_Dragon is still checking in and answering questions on this thread or not, but if so:

You know, reading through this now, I dig the knight a lot more. I was missing the Warlord, since that's my favorite new class of 4E (I like playing a martial leader), but the Knight has some leader-esque options like BATTLE LEADER (allies within 2 can shift 1) or GLOWERING THREAT (enemies within 2 take -5 to attack others) or HELPING HANDS (allows others to make a save) or BATTLEFIELD HEALING (others can spend a surge)

Woah, are these paragon and epic class features we haven't seen before or are they knight-specific utility powers (that we again haven't seen before), because they are dead sexy. At what level can the knight start picking these up?

Thanks for all the info, as always.

I've heard someone say that the only stat generation they saw provided was three arrays and that point-buy and rolling options weren't included. Could you confirm this or provide the correct information if it's wrong?

Thanks for answering all the questions you have so far.

Now, how do I give Fiery_Dragon this XP people have been talking about?

I'd also be interested in hearing about the differences between the two domains of the warpriest if Fiery_Dragon is still answering questions.
