So....anyone interested in starting a list of EN-World player who would be interested in playing co-op? I don't like playing with random people, but I would trust fellow EN-wolders not to be jerks ;)

Yeah its the best so far and I have done them all. My handle is redrobes... naturally ;) I play ok but not as well as a lot of them on there. The firefight is what persuaded me to get it. Our group has been saying for ages that the thing which has killed Halo so far is not the software, the game or the story but the people who play it. To some degree Bungie could have done a little more to prevent the abuse esp in the region of the boosters and quitters. So by having a firefight where you are all on the same side there's less chance of getting own team jerks bailing and own team killing.

I'm finding that it glitches a little on slowdowns but the graphics and game play has more going on now to justify that. The AI is better than previous and fares similarly to other games but still not really good so you can con the enemy and face palm your own AI truck driver or gunner. So far thumbs up and the software is just as much a work of art as is the art within it. Putting aside for a sec whether you like Halo or not I think it will still be considered the best software on the 360 in the same way that Halo 2 was for the first one.

As far as quitters, Bungie has made some new steps in this area... If a person quits a game 2 times, they are banned from matchmaking for 15 minutes.

Also, if multiple people drop from the game, making the teams uneven, the team that has the least amount of people getting a message stating something like "Kill your team mates for bonus credits". After a few seconds, the game ends for all and you get credits out of it. It happened to me and my team one day. I think they do that so the people that decide to not quit get some sort of reward for sticking around AND they don't have to play the game out since they are now outmatched.

So, what's great about it? How does it excel as an FPS?

Well, I can't compare it to all FPS, but it is the best of the Bungie/Halo bunch.

There are so many things that make it great, it is hard to list them all. The Forge (ie custom map maker) is awesome. The different types of multiplayer lists are great. Some are unique, I've never seen in an FPS before. Firefight is fun. Campaign is a solid story and quite challenging on Legendary mode. New armor loadouts, similiar to equipment from Halo 3. Jetpacks FTW!!! Actually, Hologram is my favorite in slayer matches :)

If any ENWorlders wanna add me, my name is FlimFlam69

Me and a group of friends usually play steady on Thursday nights, getting started around 9pm EST. We usually play custom games against each other. Objective games usually, mostly Capture the Flag, but we do bomb and team slayer as well.

We have all skill levels, from those of us who are pretty skilled, to those of us who are noobish. We break out the teams as evenly as possible. Most of us are RL friends, but we have some steady online friends that play with us as well.

Feel free to send me a friend request. FlimFlam69

One more thing, most of us are RPG Gamers (D&D mostly). So we have that in common too :)

I'm enjoying the campaign so far about 6 missions in. Haven't decided yet if I prefer it or ODST for gameplay, though. Story and graphics are clearly better.

I'm not a multiplayer, though -- just single.

I got the chance to play with Rigamortis2 and his gang the other night. Fun group. Sorry I suck so bad ;)
That was the first time I played most of the game modes. Some very interesting stuff. We played about...I don't know...10-15 games, and I don't think we repeated the same game mode more than once. I was actually quite amazed at the variety...and also lost as I hadd never played them before ;)
Overall it was a very good time.

I played through the first 5-6 missions last night with one of my friends. I'm really enjoying it, especially the new or improved weapons. I never really played ODST so i`m not sure how similar they are but REACH is one of the better shooters I`ve played in a while.

It's no Modern Warfare 2 by any means, but the story is good and I found myself becoming attached to some of your teammates.
