Question re essentials pets

If this is covered, please forgive.

With essentials pets, such as the druids or the hexblades, both have HP = your bloodied value. Both allow you to spend a HS in their place, presumably to heal them.

But what is their HS value? If, as per player characters, its 1/4 max hp, then their HS value becomes (approx) 1/8th of your max HP

So using your HS to heal your pet becomes highly inefficient use of a limited resource (especially for non Con builds)

So what is the HS value of a pet?

The way I understand it, the pet's healing surge value is equal to the PC's healing surge value.

I know I'm only a newbie here, but that would be correct.

Your pets use YOUR bloodied value for their HP, and YOUR healing surge value upon healing. Page 90 of Forgotten Kingdoms, "Your animal companion shares your healing surge total." and later on, "Whenever you use your second wind, your animal companion also regains hit points equal to your healing surge value."

Then later, to 'bring him back from 0 HP', you can use a minor and use a healing surge, and it returns to life with HP equal to your healing surge value.

To be consistent, one would assume that any other time you spend a Surge for your pet, your pet uses your surge value too. Unless otherwise stated by a power that would over ride that, of course.
