GM's anyone ever have a Female?

You're not going to the right cons. I've seen female GMs at every con I've attended.

Males are definitely the majority, but there are plenty of fearsome female GMs out there.

I can easily think of a half dozen female GMs I know off the top of my head. The percentage compared to "player-only" females I know seems about the same as males, as one would expect.

You just need to meet more female players. They are out there. I deal with more female players than male anymore. And I meet new ones all the time.

Hopefully the trend continues. More equality in RPG gamers is a wonderful thing. It hopefully means less of the creepy guys scaring the ladies off as it becomes considered less of a "guy thing". Since at that point it won't seem odd to people that females game.

Great question. In 30+ years of gaming, I've had women in just about every gaming group I've been part of. In my current group, the women outnumber the men. But now that I think about it, over all that time I've only played in a single, one-shot adventure that was run by a woman.

I know my wife feels she doesn't have sufficient rules mastery to run a game (despite 10+ years playing). I keep telling her that's not true, and that it doesn't matter anyway, but she hasn't hit the proper desire/confidence ratio to run. Is that a common issue?

Two of my three current games I'm playing in have female GMs. One is running a Shadowrun (3rd) and the other is running oWoD Werewolf. Each of them is also a player in one or more of the other games being run within the larger group. Every person in my extended gaming group has at some point been the GM for a campaign.

My wife has GMs all the time... D&D, Spycraft, Star Wars, 7th Sea (the original, not the D20 version) are some of her favorites to run.

She once ad libbed an entire session of Spycraft when we went off-track, and no one noticed except me.
