Lou's (3.5/Homebrew Gestalt) Hold Back the Flood - OOC

I was thinking a Human Duskblade, as the duskblade I currently play with seems like an interesting concept. Gestalt wise would be fighter and Human Paragon Classes, with PrC's at 5 +

Hm, 3.5 Gestalt and still looking for players... Sounds interesting. :)

However, I'm a little confused by the Plan Class bit... As I understand it, we outline our character's level progression, marking specific levels as "Plan" and we absolutely must stick with that, though the opposite side of the Gestalt can be changed? Is this correct? If not, I could certainly use a hand with the explanation. ;)

At this point, I'm thinking Cleric as one side (partly because the group seems lacking a Divine caster; not sure whether Plan or Gestalt). If PHB2 is allowed, I'd like to take Dragon Shaman as the opposite. If PHB2 isn't allowed, I'll take a different class. Race-wise, I'm thinking Human... with the paragon levels taken on the side with Cleric.

EDIT: Oh, and if Scotley's character already has Cleric to it, I'd be happy to select a different class. Perhaps Ranger...

Lou, for some hellacious reason I said 'Paladin' when I should have said 'Fighter.' I just don't think I can forgo all those bonus feats! Also, I'll probably want to go with Cleric instead of Druid, unless your ruling is that studded leather armor doesn't contain enough metal to interfere with a Druid's spells? ;)

Sorry, no studded leather for Druids.

PH2 is available as a sourcebook. I may need some help on some things.

Sorry for the delay in responding--new computer at work. Your description of Plan class progression is correct, outline levels 1-20 in advance. You can change the gestalt side class at each new level.

Scotley's original character idea was a Lawful Good Aasimar Gold Dragon Bloodline Male Sorcerer/Aasimar. Got that? Not sure if he wants to update that with some spellcasting classes now that wizarding is allowed.

Don't forget Druids can wear Hide, Dragonhide and use Darkwood Shields.

Special Materials :: d20srd.org

I think there are some more options in races of the wild if that is an allowed source.

Also, I have also seen DM's allow Darkwood studded Leather though the rules don't appear to specifically address it. It seems like the sort of thing fey creatures who don't like iron might have discovered and taught to Druids.

I think I'll stick with Sorcerer for this one. He's gonna be a spell casting machine. I can use the Sorcerer side for flashy spells and the cleric side for utility.
