Bribing the DM

Greetings fellow forumites.

I would like to raise an issue that has come up in the Pathfinder game in which I play. The thief is always getting notes passed to him by the DM and I'm convinced that one of the other players is getting preferential treatment. I've attempted to bribe the DM week after week (he has a penchant for a certain brand of chocolate bar) but so far nothing. Tonight I have attempted to increase my chances by supplying him with two chocolate bars.

While I have a break in the game the other players have asked me to log in and find out what you guys think are suitable bribes for a DM.

Chair upgrades mainly. Drink holders, fancy cushions, goes higher than the other ones, wheels, jet pack . . .

Two of my old DMs didnt have to be bribed per se, you just had to make them laugh at least once a session. But more was always better.

*crit death by ogre* "NOOOOO"

"You make me laugh so, you're at -8!"

The matra around here has always been "Feed the GM"

But other than that I certainly would say old single malt whisky is a sure way to bribe the GM (ie, me ;) )

All of the material things above work well, in particular fancy chairs and whiskey.

Now, if you are playing in a homebrewed setting..I have the perfect way to your GM's favor.

Become absolutely fascinated with the setting. Start asking about Old Man Snarfblatt's personal history. Ask about local customs of that village you are staying in. Ask about the hierarchy system of the Orc tribe to the north.

If you suddenly start becoming interested in all those painstaking details your GM has probably created only to be completely ignored, they will love you forever!

Well, I can be bribed with a good diner before the game. That would work. Pizza in game would do it, too. But I would not do both, or you would have a permanent houseguest as I would be unable to go home.

Bribe carefully!
