Bribing the DM

Now, if you are playing in a homebrewed setting..I have the perfect way to your GM's favor.

Become absolutely fascinated with the setting. Start asking about Old Man Snarfblatt's personal history. Ask about local customs of that village you are staying in. Ask about the hierarchy system of the Orc tribe to the north.

If you suddenly start becoming interested in all those painstaking details your GM has probably created only to be completely ignored, they will love you forever!

the above only works if your GM makes all that stuff, if you realize that they don't, don't go that way, but otherwise that is a good one.

a (faked) intense interest in the world the DM is building works as a bribe. though it is more work than giving them money, reading through a 30 page background story and commenting on it will make the DM into dough in your hands
damn, i didnt read the previous posts before i posted :(

I like noisy PC deaths- with gurgling and fluffed last words... It just makes me feel warm inside.

Now that I've stopped drinking that is.

All of the material things above work well, in particular fancy chairs and whiskey.

This. I have spent a long time trying to get players to know about the campaign setting. Finally, I figured out how to do that. I create the world as we play and I try to stay in a very specific place for long periods of time. My main players now know most things about the campaign setting and have even added stuff to it.

The matra around here has always been "Feed the GM"

 That isn't a bribe, its an expectation!

Cash, cash makes good bribes, unless you have a sister or brother or other relative they are interested in....you know, to help co-DM with them; unless of course they are a player.

If the DM is vegan/vegetarian bringing appropriate snacks goes a long way. Personally baking such goodies goes even further!

If the bribes don't work, you may want to look into extortion. Get your big cousins Vinny and Tony to help you out. Make him an offer he can't refuse.
