HAHAHAHAHA! Perfect.

Ok, look, it started a pre-announcement, which means any point until the official announcement, it could fall through. Even if it were the real deal, the possibility of disappointment was real. Ever heard the expression "don't count your chickens before they hatch?"

Did anyone wonder who would intentionally time a launch announcement for April 1st?

IMO, anyone who feels tricked about this really had to trick themselves. This is a great opportunity to re-assess how much you really want to invest in the whole fiasco. The fact that LPJ was willing to risk some flak on this demonstrates that he gets that.

I just have to say, really, well done. Well played, sir.

LPJ's kinda in a glass house too as far as publisher malfeasance goes - how long ago was it that his product was pulled from rpgnow for plagiarism and spamming?

So wait...people here seem angrier at LPJ than they are at the whole original situation with the vaporware.

Which my turn out to be an actual product because someone else is putting it together?

But LPJ is the bad guy here for an OBVIOUS April's Fool's joke? (the Obvious hints/clues, the fact that it was being announced on, I dont know, APRIL FOOLS DAY wasn't a dead giveaway?)

That some of you actually fell for?

And he's a jerk because you fell for it?

Really?

Razor Coast or Sinister games was announced on April Fools Day, from what I gather.

Here's the thing. Why on earth would a businessman interject himself into the mix, to become a subject of that anger?

That has nothing to do with whether or not someone "fell for it".

Generally speaking, people aren't too keen on random people walking up and picking at their scabs.

Yes and up until the point that it was announced to be an actual product (which ironically it's not...) I would have and did take it for some sort of April's fools joke.

People are angry because they got April Fooled. It's as simple as that. What kind of disgusts me here is that people seem more pissed at LPJ than they are at not getting a product that's a few years overdue and as far as I know is still being worked on.

Maybe you're right. It is possible that with this act he has doomed himself and all mankind? Oh, the horror! The horror! 2012!!!! Nooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I get that, but it appears to me that even the mention of it by him yesterday is scab-picking, regardless of what he did today (although that may have counted as extra-credit).

Possibly. Did you see various comments made yesterday? Quite a few sorta knew (it seems) that it was a 4/1 thing.

Again, the gullibility or lack thereof doesn't seem to be the issue, except in a few cases.

And there's an interesting lesson I've learned about anger. You can grow it to cover everyone who needs it - so I don't guess any anger at Nick has been lessened, but rather anger at Louis has grown.

Indeed, you reinforce my point. Why the desire to interject himself between Nick and Nick's customers?

If this is what it means to be a professional, then I guess I'm glad not to be in the RPG business.

Well, glad to see snarkiness return to ENWorld.

Bravo sir, Bravo.

Well, they'll have cost themselves at least one customer. Intentionally poking a stick into folks by getting their hopes up on something thats a real sore spot for many folks wasnt my idea of something to be joking at or with.

I can inderstand people not being offended, especially if they're not directly affected by it, even if I don't agree with them (or them with me), but to laugh at people's misfortune and regard that as perfect? I mean, seriously, was there any need for that? Do you even know how rude and infantile that is? I'm assuming not, since you probably don't have the emotional maturity to work it out.
