Then you must be missing out, because you obviously don't own The Dresden Files RPG--and it is awesome!*
*And big and heavy.![]()
Fake or not, the "sad" part is that it sounds better than 4e.
Where can I reserve a copy? lol
Of course it sounds better than 4e. It's pure marketing spiel, for a product that doesn't actually exist and can therefore have features that are very difficult to implement in reality, and which you can't look at to see the flaws.
4e actually exists, so you can see the flaws of implementation.
Hey, I was actually at one of the groups 5EFan was attending. There were a series of Encounters events around Washington that they apparently were sending these 5th Edition carrying agents to. I saw the same huge binder. For the most part, he just sat around and watched the Encounters group play, and occasionally, when someone's turn wasn't up (we have a big group, and it can take twenty minutes to a half hour to go around) he would take them aside interview style and ask them a few questions about what they liked, and then they'd come back to the table. I was one of the first, and the opening questions were all aimed at what we did, and didn't like about 4.0. Pretty standard at first, I thought it was just a typical survey about how things were going. THen it veered towards the upcoming 5.0, and he asked how I would like this new mechanic over that old mechanic, and whether I prefered something like Pathfinders or such. I caught a few glimpses as the binder he was holding, and as was previously mentioned, it was placeholder pictures for the most part, and a whole lot of facts and figures. When my turn was up, I asked when we can be getting some concrete information on it, and he said it would be a few weeks at least, as they tabulated all their information.
