I'd play anything but 4e, really (though I didn't mark BECMI, 2e or 3.0).

Not that I have hate-on for 4e, its that I don't own anything 4e, and I'm not buying any more fantasy rpgs for a long time, given the number of FRPGs on my physical and virtual shelves which have never seen any table time. I've simply not been in the market for a new FRPG since about 2006.

There is not a game I would not play if my friends came to me and said they wanted to play it. There are games I would not want to run but that takes a lot more effort and requires more from me.
This. There are a number of games that I've played with the groups I've been a part of that I'd never have tried otherwise.

When I'm gooing to be a player, a roleplaying game is a roleplaying game, not a fight for, with, or against the rules game.

I don't see it as a "fight".

However, I recognize that some systems are better suited to certain types of play than other systems. Theoretically, any group could take any system to make it work for them, but why bother? Seems to me better to select the system bested suited to everyone's expectations rather than shoehorn those expectations into a system not suited to them.
