Versatile Weapons

Say you're wielding a versatile weapon two-handed. How does this work with damage rolls for powers that deal multiple [W]s.

Let's pretend you're using a bastard sword two-handed, and you use a power that deals 3[W] damage. Would this be 3d10+1 damage, or 3d10+3 damage?

"Versatile weapons are one-handed, but you can use one two-handed. If you do so, you gain a +1 bonus to the weapon’s damage rolls."

Damage roll, so that would be the total damage rolled, not each individual W. Generally it isn't super advantageous and you'd be better off with a real 2-handed weapon. Still, there are a few corner cases like swordmages where you can take advantage of this.

Any damage modifier, be it versatile, ATTRIBUTE modifier, Power Bonus etc etc always adds to the total of the roll when you consider a power that has 2 or 3[W] (or higher).

So 1[W] + Str (6) + Magic Item (2) + Power Bonus (1) + Feat Bonus (2)

Total Modifiers = 6+2+1+2 = 11

So the damage is 1[W] + 11

Now if there are 3 [W] involved, it then looks like

3[W] + 11

... don't confuse doing more damage with hitting more than once. A 3[W] isnt your character hitting 3 times, it is him hitting 3 times as harder. If you have an ability that lets you attack twice, then the modifier is on each attack

So if you had a power that did 2[W] + 11 (same modifiers as above) it does that per attack

Attack 1 : 2[W] + 11
Attack 2 : 2[W] + 11
