A Group Gone.

Yeah - that sometimes happens with online groups and even face to face groups as others have pointed out. I find fall a time when a lot of activities pick back up for various people and their responsibilities.

If you're worried about these folks, send them individual e-mails saying, "Hey, it's okay if you're dropping out of the game, but could you let me know real quick that you're alive and well at least?"

I've been doing this already for about a week now. Still no response, it's troubling.

I'm going to try to say this in a way that does not offend, I apologize in advance if I fail to do so.

The people you have been gaming with may not view your social relationship the same way you do. After a week's worth of emailing them they may now view you the same way a woman might view a man she met as a friend who calls her too much after just meeting. ("Oh no, he thinks I'm interested in him as more than a friend.") If so you may never hear from these people again as they might be uncomfortable with you acting like a friend when they viewed you as an internet gaming acquaintance.

Unfortunately... Many of the people that play RPGs are sort of flaky. They're either passive-aggressive and drop out of a group rather than deal with something that's bothering them, or they are just so flat-out inconsiderate that they don't bother to communicate at all.

Of course, not every gamer is like that. But enough are that it no longer surprises me. Don't take it personally.

At first, I thought may haps the people are falling off as with the holiday season approaching, things tend to get busy for people (family, shopping, etc.).

But then, I realized we still have 85 days to Christmas...

So, maybe they are getting ready for Halloween - real early?

Vyvyan Basterd: No need to worry, you haven't offended.

I understand where you're coming from, and while that could apply to two or three of them, there are also people among the ones that are gone who I knew beyond gaming.

So... Yeah, still doesn't help entirely, unfortunately.

I think September-ish starts getting busy with school starting up for both college aged students and parents with kids in school.
