List Your Greatest Feats

First Post
Looking at your life as if you were a game character then what things have you done that you consider to be Feats, or Great Accomplishments. These are some of the ones I consider my most important feats:

Business - I've created a couple of businesses I'm proud of, but not as many as I intend to create or want to create.

Case Work
- I've solved or help solve some hard cases, including felonies and homicides, and once profiled a bank robber (UNSUB) for the FBI which led to his capture pretty much where I said he'd be, and he ended up being who I said he'd be

Charity - I've helped out with some good charity work and some good disaster relief

Father - I've not been a perfect father by any stretch but I think I keep improving and to me this is my very most important Feat. Or set of them.

Friendship - I consider good and true friendship a feat. I think, generally speaking, I've been a good. loyal, and hopefully useful friend to several people.

Husband - Again, I'm no perfect husband, but I try and keep improving. Tied with being a father as my most important feats/accomplishments. And I never thought I'd live long enough to be either.

Invention and Scientific Work - I've created some non-lethal weapons systems and other inventions I'm very proud of, and I expect some of my scientific work, once I publish it or it is examined after my death, will stand up over time

Life Saving - I've saved a few lives, including a guy who was drowning (he nearly ended up drowning me as well, but I pulled him out), some disaster victims, some children (who could have been killed), etc. Saved my own daughter from potentially drowning too. Performed CPR on my grandfather after he had a heart attack, unfortunately he was dead by the time we discovered him - it didn't panic me though, I was very collected all things considered. I knew he was already dead but performed CRP for sake of my grandmother and mother who had discovered him.

Medicine - I've cured, or helped cure, both people and animals of various diseases and ailments. And sometimes treated severe injuries in others or myself.

Rescue Work - I've done some good rescue work, including recovering lost people

Survival - I've endured some really terrific injuries on a few occasions, survived bad pneumonia and flu, near starvation once, and some tough exposure situations, including frostbite, second degree burns over large areas of my body, a broken back, cracked ribs, and so forth

Vigilante Work - I've done some good vigilante work which has led to gangs being broken up, cases resolved, crime prevention, some rescue, property recovery, a couple of drug rings being smashed, and helped put out a burning car

Writings - I've written a lot, and some of it is good folks tell me. Personally I think my poetry is my best work. And I think it will stand up over time

Now, describe your Feats. and it doesn't have to be in this format of course. And as far as I'm concerned feats can also be long term accomplishments. I consider my marriage a long term feat, and things like saving people from drowning immediate feats.

But you're welcome to talk about both here. I consider both equally important types of accomplishments.

Athletics
As goalie, I stopped 45 shots out of 46 in a horribly imbalanced intramural soccer game in college. The only time the ball left our half was when I kicked it.

At 5'7", I jumped high enough to hit iron on a regulation basketball goal, benched 300lbs, and could do 30 700lb leg presses.

Business
As a novice lawyer, I gave an experienced lawyer an insight that turned out to be the turning point in the case.

As an MBA student, in 24 hours, I designed a complete advertising campaign for Saturn car company that my professor's company had been struggling with for months. It was good enough that he pitched it to Saturn. They didn't use it- a matter of image- but it was solid work, well thought out.

Academics
Once proved an error in a math text book in 2nd grade. It's pretty much been downhill since then.

Athletics
Once pitched a perfect game in Little League. It's pretty much been downhill since then.

Career
Despite not exactly being cut out for the whole college thing, I've managed to not only become a self-taught web and database programmer, but to be gainfully employed by several business, most recently an awesome employer in the higher education field.

Charity
Since the passing of my infant son, I've become very active in the March of Dimes, having been co-captain of our family team which has raised over $40,000 in 5 years.

Driving
Once got my parent's station wagon up to 115 mph on a state route. Ramped same station wagon off of a steeply inclined rise in a back road and totally got, like, 4 or 5 feet of air.

Handicraft
Totally designed and built a Pinewood Derby car that went 15-0 in my troops races, and then went on to nearly win regionals before falling apart during a particularly disastrous run in which it overshot the pillow used to stop cars, and crashed into the wall on the far side of the room, permanently damaging it beyond repair.

Music
Actually managed to get my really-not-very-good band's music played on a couple of local radio stations. One DJ actually referred to one of our songs as "his favorite song, right now."

Once sound-checked the drummer from Prong's drumset because my lousy band was standing around during sound checks waiting to open for the band, and Prong's drummer was no where to be found.

---

Looking back at this stuff...I really haven't done anything very interesting or spectacular with my life. This saddens me.

...

Guys, I think I'm an NPC...

That's impressive Danny!

Me:

- At 44, Went from a 200 lb fat guy to an 160lb crazy in-shape guy, by doing P90X twice, Insanity once and Insanity Asylum once. Still working out several times a week now.

- Raised a son (as a single Dad) that won the 2007 D&D Miniatures World Championship; was all-league Guard in HS football; and is now attending Sac State University (probably my greatest Feat).

- Broke 80 twice on regulation par 72 golf courses.

Professional: ran a business that became one of the leading energy, services and commodities companies in America until it went bankrupt in late 2001.

Charity: created a world-wide organisation that sends doctors into dangerous areas where they're needed to treat whomever they can, no matter what side they're on.

Personal: dated Miley Cyrus.

Invention: deciphered the means to generate limitless, clean energy but sold it for a tank of gas and a lifetime membership to Borders.

Crime: pulled off one of the greatest heists in all of history, outwitting the infamous "Night Fox" and ripping off a powerful Casino owner; all whilst looking really cool and sexy.

Charity
Donated enough softcover sci-fi and fantasy novels and anthologies and RPGs (mostly 3Ed w/OA or HERO...w/dice sets) to a particular location of my FLGS chain for the American troops serving in the Middle East that the store got a commendation from the government & USO. It was just a basket I kept dropping new & used stuff into every week for about 2 years. It wasn't until after the location closed that the manager told me my contributions accounted for more than 50% of non-staff contributions.

Professional
Currently working on a way to change the way child support payments in this country work so that the kids never do without, and the family generally stays out of the courts...on this issue, at least. If I'm right, it may even be cheaper for all involved AND be a small (teenie-tiny) boost to the economy.

MUSIC (Performance) - Played as a session percussionist for Heatwave for audiences up to 26k+ (possibly 32k+ but it was never verified).

MUSIC (Production) - Manage to completely organize the ENnie Awards audio program about 1 week before GenCon every year. This means music and voice overs. This year I'm also writing a new theme song.

HUSBAND - Managed to not tick off my wife enough that she hasn't left me for 23 years. This is mostly her achievement, but I figure I get an assist. :)

FATHERHOOD - Father of two now adult children, one who is in a serious long-term relationship and the other is a virginal female of 18 (yes, I'm sure and you're damn right I'm proud! (BTW I know how to hit target with a rifle from very long distances, and I know what parts of the human body a pig won't eat and the animal that will finish those parts. Hint, hint))

ESPIONAGE - For eight years I was a member of the Military Intelligence Community. That's all you get, I'm really good at it by the way.

MARKSMANSHIP (Rifle) - While in the US Army qualified Expert three consecutive years (my last three) with two 39s and a Hawkeye (40 out of 40) with my M16. The far target is at 300m or just over three American football field lengths.

MEDICINE (Advanced First-Aid) - Former licensed first-responder with the state of Maryland. Provided on the scene assistance for three automobile/pedestrian accidents. (without the loss of life or limb to anyone involved.)

I've enjoyed reading these. Unfortunately I've been really busy lately and can't respond much. and also I can't give much experience cause I gotta spread it around. But,

If anybody took 46 shots at me I'd be exhausted. Stopping 45 out of 46 is a feat as far as I'm concerned. Never could stand to play goal so that's impressive to me.

That's a very good effort. Good accomplishment. Hope you're successful.

I liked these entries too:

By the way TF, whenever a kid comes over to the house who wants to date one of my daughters I make sure I have my gun kit out cleaning my revolver and my .45. That usually works pretty well.

I've done P90X a couple of times, or my own version of it. Don't think I could do Insanity at my age. Nice work.

Personal: dated Miley Cyrus.

Nice catch Kzach, but I think Selena Gomez is where the real money is gonna be. I'm just sayin...

Happy Thanksgiving all. And good night.
