What is your view of EN Publishing?

I think that I have the first 2 or three adventures of the WOTBS AP (3.5). I remember them being interesting but not really my cup of tea.

Then 4E came and it seemed that EN Publishing hitched their wagon to WOTC and 4E. My dollars went to Paizo because they were supporting the game that I wanted to play and and ENWorld wasn't.

That's pretty much where I am now.

Not really interested in (Santiago) Pathfinder Future, if I wanted to play a game set in the future I'd use a different system altogether (Hero or M&M probably). An after the fact conversion of WOTBS seemed like a late attempt to hitch onto the Paizo wagon after the fact and I have no interest in SteamPunk so there's that.

I do have a few of the older ENworld produced PDF's for 3.5 and they are pretty darn good stuff. But like I said my money goes to Paizo pretty much. The only way that this changes is that if ENWorld Pubs puts out something that I'm actually interested in that can compete with what Paizo puts out in terms of support, consistency and quality (both material and physical).

I guess I'm personally falling down on the job a little here, since I'm a very regular blogger and I do write product reviews from time to time, and I've been running WotBS for a year and a half, and I write very little about it. I've also run the first two sessions of ZEITGEIST with a different group, and I haven't written about it yet, either. Hey, I'm running three campaigns; cut me some slack!

My thoughts: I'm really enjoying WotBS, and my players are, too. For an online game, I'm quite pleased that three of my original five players are still in the game a year and a half in at level 18. We're moving into the final chapter of Adventure Six and just ran the lift encounter last night - and it was awesome! I do have to re-do all of the monster math, but that's easy for me to do in MapTool.

As for ZEITGEIST, I have so many good things to say about it. I participated in the play-by-forum playtest of the first two adventures with Ryan a year ago, and loved it right then (although it helps that Ryan is REALLY good at writing compelling combat scenes with PCs). It's awesome to actually be running it now.

ZEITGEIST does require the right group in order to work well; I think most of my group is a little too combat-focused to be a great fit for the campaign, so I'm going to be tossing in a few extra fights (unusual after running WotBS, which runs much better if I omit a few fights). Still, I love the production values and the rich back story. These adventures are fun to just READ! They require a ton of prep on the DM's part (you've got to know the plot and NPCs cold to do it justice), but it's worth it.

So, there you go. I'm a fan of both WotBS and ZEITGEIST.

I think you might be suffering from some misconceptions - which is our fault.

WotBS has never been converted to Pathfinder. The 3.5 version was converted to 4E.

ZEITGEIST is another animal altogether. Thurston is involved from the start, and it turns out PF is our primary market.

The first adventure and the two guides are completely free. I urge you to take a look - it literally costs you a couple of mouse clicks from here. I hope you'll agree with me that they rival anything that anyone else is putting out. But you can judge for yourself. If I can't even give it away for free, then it's time to close up shop! Check it out; I think you'll be surprised!

As for support, we pretty much have 24/7 access to the writers. You can't get better support than that! Plenty of folks discuss the adventures directly with Ryan, Thurston, myself, and others in the ENP forum (which is half a mouse wheel scroll away!)

Of course, everyone agrees that the perfect way to publicize EN Publishing is a calendar featuring all the people involved showing the full monty.

Nothing beats full-frontal nudity for pubicity!

Honestly I have no opinion. EN Publishing just isn't in my mind-space. That's not because of any particular effort for or against, it's just simply not something I think about because it's not present in anything I do or think about.

You say that you don't get feedback but I think there's a two-way road in that respect. You have to put yourself into people's thoughts. To me, ENW and EN Publishing are two different entities, one of which I can conveniently ignore because it plays so little part in my gaming needs and experience.

Reading back on other posts in this thread, it seems this is a common response. As for the answer to this dilemma, I can only shrug and wish you luck.
