Yes.
Skills and feats? It only has 9 ranks, but not too many seem like good fits. Spot and Listen perhaps?
More Spot than Listen I think.
In space, no one can hear you shoot lightning...![]()
Ability Focus (lightning), Multiattack, ??
I feel DC 19 is high enough for the lightning-eyes.
Multiattack is a good pick.
Its attack mods aren't too hot due to the low HD, so Power Attack would be of limited use.
A Stargazer's got a decent AC, so perhaps Reckless Offense to help it hit opponents? That would synergy pretty well with Power Attack.
Alternatively, I wouldn't mind Iron Will.
Multiattack, Reckless Offense, Power Attack will work.
Though, I forget. Did we decide it does or doesn't qualify for Multiattack if two of its three natural attacks are the same (ie, 2 claws)?
The monster is its own treasure; specifically, the carapace is actually an organic form of the crystal that it most resembles. There is one drawback: Unless treated with a permanency spell, the carapace crumbles to dust 1d6 days after the stargazer’s death. Jewelers can cut magically treated stargazer shells to produce 1d6 gems of (4d6+1)×1000 gp each.
Environment: Asteroids?
Challenge Rating: 5?
Treasure: See text?
Alignment: Always chaotic neutral?
Advancement: 7-15 HD (Huge); 16–24 HD (Gargantuan)
A typical stargazer is 18 feet long and weighs x pounds.
Just make it always CN. It's a misunderstood alignment.![]()
Stick the treasure bit in the flavor, I guess.
