OK, OK. I'll talk. It's close enough to the deadline.

It's a Hot Italian Beef miniatures set.

There. I've said it.

Chris Pramas stated on twitter "interesting times ahead". I am thinking this is something bigger than 5e...the sale of WotC by hasbro?

I have not kept up with this thread, but given there is also talk of CNN and NY Times being involved with this announcement today I think it seems larger than MMO's, new editions and such. So going out on a limb, I wonder if it isn't more of a business implication such as what you have mentioned. The sale of WotC by Hasbro. I mentioned that on some of my comments on Google+ yesterday as well. That seems news big enough to even garner the attention of major media outlets.

We will know soon enough.

I do agree that the news would have to be pretty big to garner the attention of mainstream media. So, I will await the news.

My guess is that Wizards of the Coast is sold to Microsoft. Magic and D&D become two of the lead titles for XBox 720. There will be a strong online multiplayer component to both games to push Xbox Live 720.

It happened to Bungie with Halo. It could happen again.

The question is, will Microsoft keep the Pen and Paper game alive or not?

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that Hasbro is selling off WotC. It really would be for the best... unless George Lucas buys the company and craps everything up. ;)

Unimportant
Guys, it won't be merger, acquisition, and divesture activity because of the sensitive nature of that work. Only a handful of insiders in the companies are allowed to be aware prior to announcement and deals die if they leak. Certainly you don't start PR pounding an unannounced deal.

This has all the hallmarks of internal marketing/public relations attempting to create buzz and excitement.

Because of the possible mainstream mention, it'll probably be something that crosses into a more mainstream media like movies or television series.

Since the movie was supposed to release Dec 31, 2011 and didn't, it's likely the Book of Vile Darkness release announcement with some entertainment/insider writeups. If we're really lucky, maybe they'll also announce a Game of Thrones style mini-series/syndicated series.

Yes and no. they will support the VTT via surface multitouch and xbox live D&D play via kinect. You will have to shout out the name of your power when yuo use it and the kinect voice recognision will pick up on the name and apply the dice rolling.
