As I mentioned OVER HERE , I'd like to see a class that was all about the music.

I still remember games like Loom:

and Aquaria:

Music as magic... It...Could.... WORK!!

I recall sometime back, that Piratecat's group actually wrote and performed a musical version of his campaign for him. But that was more of a show intended for a 1 person audience. (apparently PC's group really liked his game).

The RockBand as resolution mechanic seems like a cool idea for a metal game. I can actually envision what a campaign would look like.

As for my actual players actually singing, that would be considered a crime against humanity.

Unless you have a musically gifted group, do your ears a favor and avoid making them sing. The majority of people cannot sing, hence the reason people who can sing are held in regard. The audition episodes of American Idol should have been explanation enough.

I recall, many moons ago when I was a teen, spending a rainy afternoon with my best friend, his younger brother, and a tape recorder. Based upon a restaurant marquee with a missing letter, we performed an impromptu musical based loosely on a D&D adventure: "Sala Bar the Invincible" ;)

There is an INCREDABLE musical episode of Batman Brave and the Bold called
i belive Menis(man I cant spell) of the Music Miester
Watch the episode,be the episode RUN the episode(it was a blast,I just wish I had preped instead of winging it)

Why am I now thinking "Josie & the Pussycats" RPG? Wasn't there a Dragon or Dungeon d20 mini-game released based on that concept?
There was. It was called Hijinx, by Jeff Quick, and can be found in Dungeon 99 (somewhere around early 2002 IIRC.) I had Jeff run it for us once. The music part didn't work perfectly and bogged down a bit, but the adventuring portion was hilarious.

As far as real musicals went, Sagiro wrote me one based on my campaign for a 40th birthday present. It was simply astounding.

Wrote long here, missclick and lost the text, not the first time either. Oh well.

Short version. Did sing some silly "bard" songs years back, as npc.
I sing badly.
Would be really nice to play some musical game, but with my current groups it won't happen. I have actually written some lyrics for my friend's band ages ago, so I kinda dig that, but coming up with actual musical scores, not my thing. I am more the poet girl.
