Silly question but when a "cure X" scroll or potion is made does the creator add the caster level bonus to it as they would when casting a cure spell?
The drinker's level is irrelevant. The potion has a caster level, which is set at the time of its creation by the creator. It does not change after that. When the drinker drinks it, he is treated as if he were both the caster and the target of the spell, but the potion's caster level is still whatever it was when it was created. So as written how does the person creating the potion know how much to spend on making it if he doesn't know the level of the person drinking it because the caster is the drinker but his level changed the price of the potion creation...
It doesn't actually mean that; it actually means what it says. Usually, the creator is also the caster, but it is actually possible for two characters to work together to craft an item: one being the creator and the other casting the prerequisite spells. So the important thing is the level of the caster.BuzzardB said:Now if "× the level of the caster." actually means "x the level of the creator" then...
It's not.BuzzardB said:...why exactly would it cost more for a high level character to make a potion than a low level if its the drinker that determines the power level of the spell he is consuming anyway.
