D&D 4E Your 4e Bucket List

1) This may be only me, but I want more info and stat blocks for the gods and obyriths. I personally think that you should be able to slay anything :p.

2) Like others have said, expand on more aspects of each class. Would be nice to see other schools for the wizard fleshed out. That is all I can think of atm but I'm sure there are way more.

I realize we are likely talking about things that will not happen now that the concentration is on the next edition, but here is my fantasy wish list:

1) A Feywild book similar to the Gloomwrought box or the other planes books.

2) More books like Demon, Dragon, and Undead ones - maybe like one on devils, creatures from the Far Realm, giants, elementals, etc..

3) A Nentir Vale book. Something that pulls all of the information from the Nentir Vale (and surrounding areas) into one and then adds more. Or maybe instead it is a book on Nerath and the Nentir Vale info is just collected in one chapter.

4) Heroes of the Astral Sea?

5) Dungeon collections (Chaos Scar, Scales of War, the new "Against the Giants", etc.), and more adventures in general.

6) A guide added to the character builder or a book. Something that helps people decide their characters - similar to how the red box does it (would you hide in the shadows, cast a dazzling fireball, rush into battle, help the hurt merchant...). It can be extended to help with weapon, powers, feats, and subclass/build decisions as well. For example, if you already chose a Mage, then the guide may ask if you prefer to confuse your enemies through the use of illusions, or if you prefer to summon other creatures to fight for you...that sort of thing.

Anyway, those our my top ones. Regarding 3, I don't think there are many monster types that would need their own book, but I like the extended info found in the existing books such as sample lairs, ecology, and more detailed info about society.

I'm quite happy with the state of 4th edition at this point, actually, and will probably continue to play it after 5e is released.

One thing I really want, though, is a chance to play an epic tier adventure. I'm running 2 games, both of which are epic tier, and yet I've never played higher than 10th level. That irks me.
Ditto, ditto, ditto! What I wouldn't give for a DM willing to run epic!

Other than that...a [real] psionic striker would be cool, for completeness' sake. I wouldn't mind a martial controller either.

I don't think we need a whole new class for the necromancer concept, but a build that gives you a permanent undead lackey would be great for the occasional evil campaign.

And of course an epic-focused DMG3 wouldn't be amiss either.

I know you poo poo essentials, but the Hunter Ranger is a martial controller.

However, the lack of the Soul Knife made me sad.

If I wanted to fake a necromancer, I'd just take a Shaman, treat the spirit as a ghost, refluff some powers, and call it a day.

I imagined the necromancer would be a ranged defender, who summoned lots of lackeys and undead minions to act as the meat-shield for the rest of the party. But that can still be done with a Shaman, like Rechan said.

For fear of going off-topic, I would also love me some DMG3 for epic tier stuff, and possibly some guidelines for homebrewing and/or alternate rules.

A book of themes, which would have all the existing ones (that are setting-neutral) and a bunch of new ones too, all balanced against each other. Wouldn't have to be a big product, but I'd like all that information in one physical source. Maybe include backgrounds too.

A book of traps, hazards, and terrain features. Include a bunch of skill challenges too, with an exploration vibe. And different types of environments, and the dangers PCs would encounter there. For DMs to flesh out the non-combat aspects of adventuring.

A monster book focused on the Far Realm and aberrants, much like Lords of Madness.

More classes focused on the Shadow power source. Classes with a cool theme and mechanics that we haven't seen before in D&D. A dedicated Necromancer class, as others have mentioned. I'd like to see more monsters-as-classes, like a lycanthrope. Maybe roll all this up into one product and call it the PHB 4.

Heroes of the Astral Sea, followed up with a 4e-style Spelljammer product or quasi-campaign setting.

A book focused as PCs as leaders: rules and advice for governing a city or nation; building castles, temples, and wizard towers; mass combat; followers; and that like. And lots of adventure hooks. As much a product for DMs as players.

A Steampunk sourcebook, with fantasy mecha, firearms, gadgets, and other cool stuff

DMG3, for the sake of completeness :)

EDIT: Oh, and an Unearthed Arcana-type book with lots of optional rules for everything.

Autumn and Winter Sentinels.
Warpriests for the other domains.
Knight and Slayer class abilities for the remaining weapon types.
Conjuration and Transmutation Mages.

Errata for Kulkor Arms Master's horribly broken 16th level ability.

Yeah, that'd do it.

Ooh, good one! I like the idea of 11th and 21st becoming 'name levels' in the traditional sense.

Oh yeah, forgot about the hunter. So I'll add AEDU martial controller to my list. A soul knife would be cool too, though it's hard to imagine the devs working in the "You don't need an actual magic weapon" concept.

I'd never considered a non-controllery necro, but it does make sense. I could see a new class for that.

The Unseelie Agent theme (Heroes of the Feywild) actually gives you a free magical weapon that gains a bonus every six levels (making it a basic magical weapon that grows with you). So it's not too hard to believe.

I would like to see a build for the Avenger that emulates Friar Tuck: a bit of healing on the side and benefits for using a quarterstaff. (This is actually not because of Robin Hood, but because I loved the Friar in the on-line game Dark Age of Camelot.)

Mostly though I would like to see some nerfing of unbalanced things like the Sohei theme and Kulkor Master paragon path, and beefing up useless classes like the Seeker. Since the Fourth Edition is going to be set in stone soon, I would like to see its problems fixed.
