It would be nice if you could expend Expertise Dice for attacks - maybe at a 2 dice-for-1 attack ratio or somesuch.

That way, if you need to beat on a single opponent, you can just make one big attack. If, instead, you need to take on many foes at once, you can choose to split your attacks out (maybe trip one, impale another and rush a third into a pit).

Or should the wizard and cleric be the only one who can affect more than one foe in a round, hm?

Trade Expertise Dice for an "Action Point" basically? Seems reasonable.

I agree with all your points.

Especially the parts, where bigger weapons' high damage dice don´t become more or less useless and where you can take out multiple low level enemies without special maneuvers.

I however don´t agree with the number of bonus attacks you suggest.
Ideally, you should have expertise dice as well as a secondary attack AS FIGHTER. Other characters should only get a single action.

I like this idea. I think scaling damage dice should go, I think action points seem more reasonable rather than fiddly dice pools. Perhaps a bonus attack could be a maneuver. Perhaps a fighter gets a point every odd level, then can spend 3 for a bonus attack or can spend for other maneuvers. Clerics and rogues every three and wizards every 5 or something.

These points would be used to activate maneuvers and combat feats, perhaps metamagic could be tied into this too for spell casters. Could be fun.

Having to pick one, I went with damage escalation, as it bogs down the game less. But some combination is probably the ultimate solution, still leaning towards damage over extra attacks.

Personally I'd like to see something like a Base Damage Bonus (BDB; equivalent to the BAB).

Give fighters +1 damage on level 1 and +10 damage on level 10 and then give them 2-3 additional attacks per round with a full attack bonus (like AD&D) over the course of 20 levels.

The fixed damage bonus needs to apply to every attack you make in a round. Then volley and whirlwind attack start to do the appropriate job at the appropriate levels. That's all.

Yeah, Pink Flowers. I'd like to see both options. One for those who just want to give the ol' smackdown, and one for those who want more options - without having to go dual weapn.
