Twitch tv won't work for me, can anyone summarize what they learned about the bard and mage traditions other then they're coming next packet please.

Not much juicy stuff. They did confirm that they were working on different sub-class casting systems. They liked how the sub-class idea allows them to fit that in, and they like how sub-classes can be expanded or changed depending on the game world used. Particularly, they discussed how classes would be used to denote who can use specific magic items saving them the trouble of having to list which sub-classes use which items. Yeah, it is a minor point, but it shows that they are concerned with streamlining and modularity.

Also, Rodney mentioned that they intend to do all the schools for Mages's Wizardry

Also, regarding the special Gen Con dice, there is a neat story behind the design of each of the die related to The Sundering.

I have to say I really enjoyed this session. Mearls' character was awesome in its ridiculousness, the DM did a great job roleplaying the NPC's, and the improvised encounter which ended things says a lot to me about how the battlemat-free level of DDN combat will work at the table. Good show.

MC Killzalot, dwarf rapper, wearing a metal tuxedo. He's gone back to adventuring because he lost all of his money on his recent complete failure concert tour.

I'm one hour in to the show and I cannot believe that they get very far in this adventure before their time runs out. They spent quite a bit of time upfront negotiating--at least 30 minutes, I believe.

Sounds like a good many D&D games I've run over the years.

DM - "Come on, guys, just take the quest and let's get to the dungeon."
Wizard - "Hang on, I want to ask whether we're getting draft horses or war horses."
Rogue - "Are there any more little trinkets on his desk?"
Fighter - "I want to intimidate."

SO true.

Mearls character is what is wrong with dungeons and dragons and to see this kind of pure stupidity from the lead designer is just horrible. It was not funny just juvenile and pathetic.
