I figure that is the case; I understand that many of the child characters have been aged up for the screen.

But for all the talk about Jamie forcing himself on his sister, I find the idea of a grown woman seducing Tommen far more disturbing.

I thought Margery's ploy for Tommen was pretty tasteful when compared to many of the others in the series/books.

The tastefulness is the problem. She's basically strongly implying statutory rape, but not saying or doing anything overt that could get her in trouble (moreso than her presence there in the first place, anyway).

It's not disturbing because it looks obviously bad, it's disturbing because there appears to be someone in this case who represents an actual victim that we can feel sorry for if something happens to him (often not the case in this world).

Things that I am surprised to learn:

The guy running Craster's place is the same guy who plays the British leader on "Turn". I watched the pilot for Turn and this episode of GoT within 12 hours of each other and I had no idea.

The guy who's taken up with Jon Snow is apparently the same guy who cut off Jaime's hand and works for the Boltons. I guess that was supposed to be known to the viewers, but I did not track that at all.

Huh, I was surprised to learn these two: the second right now, the first a couple days ago. I had watched episode of one of Turn, then watched GoT. It was weird because I was like 'Why does that guy seem so familiar?" Until the next night I watched the next episode of Turn and was like 'That's the guy!'

Yeah, but I wonder how much can legally be shown on tv. When Margaery was about to kiss Tommen I was like no.... they can't show that on tv, can they? Whether or not in real life that would have happened on the lips, I figured it would be wrong to show it on tv. But then she kissed his forward and I felt better.

Legally, there are probably some limitations in place to protect child actors, but a kiss is definitely not out of the questions. I remember reading some very interesting stuff about what a thorny area this was when Lolita (the recent-ish) version was being filmed.

Regardless of what physical action was shown, I was very uncomfortable with the power dynamic there. And, it's one of those strange meta things as well, where you look at the screen and see that the kid seems to be totally smitten, and you wonder how the actual actor feels being in that position. Teenage boys are teenage boys, and that is one hot woman. It reminds me of the ubiquitous teacher/student sex scandals that pop up on the news periodically.

Yeah, those really weird me out. I remember reading this one where the boy was like 15 and driving around town with the teacher as his passenger and that how people found out about the scandal. It makes sense when they hide it, because it's wrong, but I can't imagine what the teacher could POSSIBLY be thinking to agree to drive around with the boy in his car. Though for the boy of course he was showing off. But her... I will just never understand it.

Women think with the wrong parts too sometimes. I know it isn't exactly cool to say in this world, but I have in the past done things because I wasn't thinking that in retrospect where very stupid. Nothing as bad as what happens in westeros, but I did have a teenage boy in one of my D&D games come on to me a few times... nothing ever happened, but sometimes in the shower I would imagine it did... not that far a leap.

I'd like to think that was deliberate characterisation - that Margaery is able to contemplate going to the lengths her grandmother has, but isn't ready to actually do so when it comes to it.
