D&D 5E Player's Handbook Races

I like this list. Lots of options... and since PHB is technically optional... any table can decide to remove anything they object to.

Also, too, more leaks, Morrus! We demand more leaks! How am I supposed to get through my work day without leaks? I'm (figuratively) dying over here. ;)

I don't get why someone would be mad at the inclusion of something so easy to disallow in your game of you want. I can see people being mad something was not.

They aren't my favorite (And why isn't Aasimar a base race if Tiefling is one?), but it's just fine since they didn't exclude former base races to include them.

I understand that Aasimar are "the opposite of Tieflings" but that's not a reason to include them in the PHB. Consider that Tieflings were in 4e, were popular as far back as 2e (albeit in a different form) and that WotC has lots of survey data indicating which races folks are interested in playing. Seems like an easy decision to make to me.

(And I say this as someone who's got close to zero interest in playing a Tiefling. Where are my Changelings and Shifters is what I want to know!)

What's going to be interesting to see is how they define tieflings, and if it favors the classic 2e/3e version or the rather different 4e version.

Yeah, it ain't The Big Book Of Enforced Exact Symmetry! :)

Why I'll force YOUR symmetry! *fishes out his Stick of Forceful Symmetry*

It't not just the symmetry for me. I would really like for them to be there! (Or any other Planetouched. I don't think something has to be evil to be cool, dagnabbit!)
