Mad if they change it to the 4e Eldarin backstory, or mad if they change it away from the 4e back story and towards the previous Celestial Aborea story?

Man, I am not even sure of the difference, really.

Arborea = Feywild. 4e Eladrin are a specific Court in the greater D&D Eladrin context, one that maybe likes to gadabout in the Prime and teleports instead of turning into little blinking balls of light and color.

I liked the concept of an eladrin race, just not how they replaced the high and grey elves and how it screwed up the cosmology. Their background needs cleaned up.

To expand this into a General Theory of 5e Elves: drow, as a PC race, would then have darkness (a 2nd level spell) once a day at 5th level.

Arborea is back to being the outer plane it was with the Eladrin that shift into elemental forms and balls of light. While Feywild still exists as the border plane to the Positive Energy Plane, as for the fate of it's Sidhe-like residents from 4e, that's less known about where or how they'll appear in 5e beyond having the High Elves back as an elven subrace.

Supposing my GToE5e (General Theory of Elves in 5e) is true, I think it has the nice impact of being not too wahoo for players who want a more old school approach and being very much in line with what people who enjoyed 4e want. The added benefit of being able to modulate the amount of wahoo by changing how frequently the spells can be used is pretty cool.
