D&D 5E So I got my PHB. My impressions...

Hah, actually I love that halfling, gnome and dwarf artwork. I really like that their skulls are a little bigger, especially for halflings, it makes them more than just little human children.

I did a quick google image search for "female halfling rogue" and found these. Tell me, which seems more like a toddler and which seems more like a competent adventurer?

[MENTION=7635]Remathilis[/MENTION] to be honest I like all those renditions! (the scantily dressed one, a bit less) And perhaps the 5e one is even my (slight) favourite. In that case, it doesn't seem to me that the head is oversized or the overall result is comical.

The Elmore one OTOH is badly over-sexualized. How many cat-burglars work in mid-riff tops and lipstick? IMHO of course.

I like the Icewind dale one best, but it wouldn't look out of place in the PHB.

Thanks for the overview. I'm getting excited about finally getting a copy.

Regarding the art: I like most of the 5e art, although some does look computer-gamey in my opinion.

Maybe it's because they're stick figures, but no one really complained at how Belkar had a big head.

Count me in as part of the "likes 5E halflings" camp.

Plus, she's careless enough to let loot just spill out of the bag like that. If the question is "Who seems like the more competent adventurer?" she loses hands down.
