D&D 5E DungeonScape Beta Gloat Thread

I had a quick try, not particularly impressed, but then I prefer to type up my own PC sheets. So I'm probably not the target market. For me, the main thing will be being able to insert our own houserules. If we can do that, cool, if not, we wont be using it.

Character Sheet printouts are easy using the iOS version.

Yeah, it seems Apple products are most important for them. Unfortunate for all those who don't use iOS devices.

They should really aim to make web work first and then export to other devices later, but iOS first is the chosen strategy. :-(

That strategy was set by wotc

Really? I got the impression from one of their blog posts that they initially focused on iOS because that's where they had their expertise. However, that post also implies that they intend to bring the android and web versions up to snuff before long.

It's true that they started with iOS because that's what they knew, but WotC's directive was to develop for tablets first, and native apps perform much better than web apps on tablets.

Ah, that makes sense. In a way, I can understand the focus on mobile devices first (tablets rather than laptops). And if you are going to focus on mobile devices, as you say, 'going native' is a good move. But I do understand that the good or bad of a focus on mobile devices is a matter of perspective, so I'll leave it at that.
