Since they want to make each wave of releases an event I guess they are working on the columns, promotional info and coordinating the extras that will tie-in with the event (Screens, cards, etc).

Also, I'm guessing one of the books for the Event to be released or announced at GenCon will be done in-house, so they may be working on that.

I am hoping we will see converted adventures done for us, or at least conversion rules. I am mostly looking forward to unearthed arcana style optional rules in a column or whatever.

As for completely new adventures, 3rd parties will probably have that covered I think

It definitely feels quiet and it is hard to imagine that there's nothing in the hopper except the Sasquatch stuff. I also agree with those who have said that the movie situation doesn't mean all WotC designers are sitting around twiddling their thumbs - I'm sure they're working on all manner of things. Some ideas:

- Online support - including Dungeon and Dragon, Unearthed Arcana, etc
- Psionics in some form or another
- A Forgotten Realms campaign setting book
- The fall, 2015 story arc
- We could also hope for one-shot modules and a new setting, but unfortunately I doubt that, at least in 2015.

Anyhow, I'm sure they've got all sorts of things in the works. The question isn't as much whether they're working on something, and of course we all want to know what they're working on - but why aren't they saying anything? I'm guessing we'll know soon enough, but maybe not until after the new year.

Conversion guides would be a really cheap way of suddenly providing hundreds of adventures for your game, instantly turning it into an incredibly well-supported game.

That said, it then removes the benefit of an OGL-style license, as third party support fills that same role.

Hmm...not quite. Two things that still make third party support appealing: One, newness. Everyone likes new stuff. Two, products made for 5E don't require conversion. No matter how good the conversion guides are, they'll still require extra work to convert old adventures.

As a dad of a 6 year old girl with 3 D&D friends with 6-7 year old girls this would be awesome.

One reason for them waiting with any new announcements (at least until the 9th), probably is that they don't want to take focus from the DMG. They have built up a pretty good hype (well deserved), with their previews and it would be rather stupid, to dilute that, before a large portion of their customers has even gotten a hold of the DMG.
