I can't decide if it's a spear or a double edged glaive (which allows slashing).

I would stat him up as a monk/fighter because that looks like a spear being used with dexterity as the attacking ability score and monk is the only way to make that work.

It's a spear. Would be a longspear for DnD.

The actor revealed in an interview that they had a martial artist give him a couple weeks training in spearfighting as prep for that episode.

I don't have HBO, but in the books it is identified as a spear. He states it is the only way to counter the Mountain's reach.

i've always envisioned it as what's called a winged-spear. basically a short sword on the end of a long stick.
