...I'm running a new 5E campaign with a session Friday night (two nights from now) and am in a bit of a time crunch with other projects, so am looking to "cheat" a bit and either use a published adventure that suits my game, or a pre-made short scenario that I can read over and slot in.
Here's the situation in short: In a very short first session the PCs met in a tavern. Yes, they did. One of them was waylaid outside by a number of wandering skeletons. They holed up in the tavern to find a horde of skeletons gather outside. After killing a bunch with molotov cocktails, they made a run for it. In session two they fled westward, fighting off skeletons on their way to the closest fortified town. They made it there, and then while resting over ale, tried to figure out what was going on. They found that at least two of them were wearing similar medallions with some unknown magic. One of them went out to the wall of the town to find a horde of hundreds of skeletons whose blank-yet-creepy gazes went up to him as he held up the medallion. Before ending the session, the players decided to investigate further - asking a local mage, temple, etc. All of that will happen in session three, and then presumably they will (or might) follow various hooks to go to a lone tower about twenty miles away around which is the remnants of an old battlefield from which the skeletons presumably came from (they figured this out from the armor the skeletons were wearing).
Sorry to bog you down with details, but I'm looking for something relatively specific, or something close enough that I can quickly mod. Basically I'm looking for creepy tower inhabited by a low-level necromancer who is raising skeletons from the dead (for reasons I won't go into here), or a short scenario that I can easily plop into their path on the way to the tower, which would then give me time to design the tower for the next session.
Any ideas? I'd love if it were 5E, but given that there isn't much out there, any D&D scenarios will do - preferably in PDF form so I can buy and download it. I may have time to do a bit of planning tomorrow, but thought I'd evoke the erudition of ENWorld.
Thanks.
