D&D 5E Why Dont The Creators Add Snow Elves In D&D?

I don't care what book they were in, 2e had a ton of subraces for elf... 3e wasn't much better. When 4e split them off to be eladrin I was glad they weren't more elves...until we got int elves anyway....

someone get Wanda...NO MORE ELVES

Snow elves will be fine along side sun elves, wind elves, rain elves, sleet elves, cloud elves, partly cloudy elves ...

What really muddies the waters on elven heritage is that many cultures like to break down the partly cloudy elves into strict and discreet categories based solely on their partly cloudy elven percentage.
And to make matters worse, some cultures eschew the partly cloudy name altogether and instead prefer to call them partly sunny elves.

In most of the d&d games i've played, there was a cool new race or sub-race but this one, D&D fifth Edition, there wasnt any new things that i saw... sooo in the next one, they should add Snow elves as a new race and some more shtuff to it Agreed?

To rife with potential subtext to go over well in the US. Especially if they're fair haired fair-skinned or white-skinned beauties.

Let's see...

I want snow humans, sand humans, mountain humans, swamp humans, sea humans......

Use the wood elves for a primal based elf and then just change the fluff, dunno why you need a whole new race.

My group was talking about how there always seem to be very distinct versions of races other than humans, yet with humans there isn't such a wild diversity of special abilities. It almost makes me wish they had gone with a feat style system for racial abilities. meh.

The crunch already specifically mentions snow.

Snow elves are just wood elves in a cold climate.
Technically they'd be properly called Fir elves or Conifer elves.
To other elves they're known as Bloody Stupid Elves, or Icicles (and the subject of many a cruel joke made from the safety of their sun-dappled bosky glades).
