Is Create Bonfire applicable to pick up for Spell Sniper? Thought it had to have an attack roll. Doesn't create bonfire have a save?
It is not.
Here is Aridha's proposed replacement:
That's fine. I think we can just follow the rules for creating a 5th level character in the DMG. I think they start with slightly more material wealth (500?) and they might start with 1 minor item. I'm not positive off the top of my head and am away from books.
I thought it was RAW, just like on page 125 of the phb that says that if you get proficiencies and tools from different sources you get to pick one of your choice. You're right that nothing is explicit about spells though (unless it is, and I simply haven't found it). I don't think there's anything game-breaking about this anyways, but thanks for pointing it out!
Cheers,
SG
I'm fine with making this exception.
Another thing to keep in mind about the spell sniper feat which I find really strange is the fact that, RAW, it allows spell attacks to ignore half cover and three-quarters cover. However, unless I'm mistaken, prone targets will still be attacked with disadvantage. To me, this is really weird because being prone is in essence a form of cover, but the feat doesn't explicitly say it, and the prone condition mentions nothing of cover. So a prone enemy can be 10 ft in front of Thaliss and will be attacked with disadvantage, and an enemy with 3/4 cover behind a wall won't, unless Creamsteak rules otherwise.
Cheers,
SG
I think it's strange only in a verisimilitude sense. Mechanically, I don't find it too complex or anything.
Also, can we assume that we gave ourselves 1 nights of rest, and were ready to leave on the 2nd day. I don't mind if we need to stay longer, I just want to substract the appropriate living expenses.
So far I am assuming one long night's rest. The party still hasn't turned in the quest at the quest hub or anything. Or attempted to gather more information. I assumed we still had some things to play out in town.
