D&D 5E [IC] Creamsteak's Princes of Elemental Evil

Leaning over to Carradoc, he whispered, "Carrodoc, exactly what do I look like right now? I can't seem to recall."

Carradoc hears Damien's voice, and turns to behold the pot-bellied figure before him. Hmmm, he thinks. He was sure it was Dami- oh of course.

He sizes him up. the tufts of hair emerging from the man's oversized ears are unsettling, and slightly comical. The redness in his cheeks appears to emerge from the recovery from drink rather than a natural, healthy rosiness, but it does offset the squint.

The man before him seems taller than Damien, but his mouth is perfectly symmetrical, with good healthy teeth. (Was Damien's disguise changing everything, then? Perhaps carradoc had never noticed the warlock's teeth before.)

"Like an unshaven cooper," Carradoc answers, with a sigh. "Taking up barrel making are we?" Despite himself, Cooper is amused. He'd not want to loo at the figure before him under most circumstances; it was effective misdirection.

Carradoc gains his senses when he hears Thaliss chanting. He instinctively echoes the chant, taking up its rhythm and letting his voice harmonize with his companion's.

OOC: Sleep, focused on G9. [roll0] hit points worth.
It's not clear to me if Mage armour is up -- It's SOP to cast it when adventuring, and I think he'd do so here, but I haven't said so, and it's fine if the dm rules no.

Dent eyed Maighan with appreciation. Now there's a tasty tart. He licked his lips and smirked. When the surly man pointed the crossbow Dent's way, however, Maighan and her appealing form were forgotten in favor of bloodlust. Dent smiled grimly. In a flash, he kicked over the table separating him and McSurly, the better to get at thethug. Dent surged forward into the space occupied by the now-overturned table, and commenced hacking at McSurly with his blade. The bears went--for the moment, at least--unnoticed.

[sblock=OOC]Move: Kick over table in F5, then step into F5.
Action: Attack McSurly twice with longsword: [roll0] for [roll1] damage and [roll2] for [roll3] damage
Bonus Action: None
Reaction: Fighting Style (Protection) to cause disadvantage on an attack made against the first ally w/I 5' of Dent (if any) to suffer a hit

hp 54/54
AC 21[/sblock]

Seizing the opportunity to incapacitate a few of the thugs, Thaliss begins to chant arcane words while waving staff.

OOC: Action: cast sleep centered on E5. The entire room is within the spell's 20 radius range.
HP of creatures affected: [roll0]
If D5 and E5 enemies fall asleep or are otherwise unable to use their reactions because they are still seated, Thaliss will move to D2 bu going over the bar; otherwise, he will stay put.

EDIT: Please note my comment in the ooc thread. If Thaliss can see outside, he'll Misty Step to C9 as a bonus action

OOC: To clarify, something you guys taught me from the first combat in this game, you cannot both cast an action spell and a bonus action spell in a round unless the action spell is a cantrip. Which action do you really want to take?

OOC: To clarify, something you guys taught me from the first combat in this game, you cannot both cast an action spell and a bonus action spell in a round unless the action spell is a cantrip. Which action do you really want to take?

OOC: Sorry about that, I completely forgot about that limitation! Thaliss will Misty Step to C9, and then Eldrich blast (cantrip) C6 D5 thugs.

Attack C6 Thug (no penalty because of spell sniper feat) [roll0]
attack with advantage C6 (only if you rule that target cannot see Thaliss because he is so far away with many opponents in between) [roll1]
damage [roll2]

Attack D5 Thug (no penalty because of spell sniper feat) [roll3]
attack with advantage D5 (only if you rule that target cannot see Thaliss because he is so far away with many opponents in between) [roll4]
damage [roll5]

Thaliss blasts two thugs and then disappears in mist and reappears outside the building.

OOC: Some of the walls are actual walls which you couldn't shoot through. The windows are closed, so an eldritch blast would destroy them if you shot through one of those. I just had you fire first for now.

The druid calls down a storm of teeth claws and fur into the room. I believe everyone, including the bears, find themselves a bit surprised.

Damien dances up on top of one of the guild tables, clearly crafted by a wheelwright from spare parts and not a particularly fancy thing.

Carradoc's spell doesn't seem to accomplish much of anything.

OOC: I will assume you have mage armor up.

Dent wrecks the table to the side and stands up to the crossbow loving mercenary. His blade lands one good blow, but McSurly is capable of avoiding the second attack.

The thugs all make attacks this round to the best of their ability. None of them seem to move for any better targets.

The thugs around Damien make numerous attacks. Five out of 8 attacks land. Is this good or bad for the thugs though? The first one lands two strikes dealing 7 and 6 damage, but reflecting 30 points into the fool. He's almost critically wounded just from that. The second lands one strike on Damien for 6 damage, and takes 15 in return. The last two thugs land one hit each for 7 and 5 damage respectively.

OOC: Armor of Agathys removed and 16 damage taken, but 45 dealt out.

Three thugs and McSurly attack Dent. One thug strikes true for 8 damage. McSurly picks up the heavy crossbow and fires it point blank at the knight. He fumbles critically and his weapon malfunctions.

Two thugs go for Caradoc. They both miss completely.

One thug attacks the bear at G7. Two attacks land for 7 and 7 damage.

The "Hedge" Wizard targets the druid with repeated summoned needles... the barrage hits 5 separate times for 21 force damage in total.

Finally the elven woman behind the bar pops back out with a wand in hand and blasts the hedge wizard from across the room with five bolts of arcane force. They cumulatively deal 18 points of damage.

Thaliss moves to the stairs to have a better view of the inside of the room, behind the newly arrived lovely druid. Thaliss resists the urge to lower his eyes to admire her curves, and proceeds to blast the same thug as before, as well as the one critically damaged by Damien

OOC: Move to C8, I am assuming the door is open
EB1: attack same thug as before: [roll0]
damage [roll1]

EB2: attack Thug critically damaged by Damien: [roll2]
damage [roll3]

Note: Thaliss will cast shield as a reaction if he is hit by an attack (+5 to AC)
AC: 17 (I am hoping Thaliss will get some additional cover since he is behind the Druidess)
HP: 40
Spells: Sorceror: 3/3 1st level slots
warlock: 1/2 second level slots

OOC: Ouch. So much for that AC improvement...

Clearly these aren't run-of-the-mill thugs... the warlock thought to himself as he suffered from several stab wounds. At least they probably got it worse than I did. Focusing himself, he stabbed at the thug that struck him twice, seeking to end the full and draw some level of sustenance from his soul. Hopping down from the table, Damien hoped his new bear friends would help him out.

OOC: Damien
Action: Attack1 [roll0], Damage [roll1] <- Crit Damage in OOC
Attack2 [roll2], Damage [roll3]
Bonus Action: Attack [roll4], Damage [roll5]
Note: Damien attacks the thug that hit him twice until he is dead, then distributes attacks out to the other thug that suffered 15 damage from the Armor of Agathys.

Move: Jumping down into a space that will result in the fewest triggered OAs. If I can't move so that I only suffer one OA, I'll stay put.

[sblock=Combat Stats]HP: 32/48 (8 THPs)
AC: 18
Spell Slots: X/X/1/-/-

Thaliss and Damien each end one life in short order. Damien wounds the thug at B5 further (to within bear finishing it off range).
