I've vetted Ce'rek and sent a PM to you, Wrex. Thanks for selecting a monstrous race. I've been looking for someone to do that, so it's neat you rolled with it. Also neat to see someone playtest Unearthed Arcana material. I'll insert Ce'rek into the IC as soon as I can. When I do, I'll ping you with a mention.

Court today, and ballroom dancing this evening. I'll post when I can. I think we're being tested this evening at the dance lesson to see whether we've fumbled through enough lessons to qualify to begin the Bronze I program. I may not dance particularly well, but, damn, call something a "test" and I'll (attempt to) crush it.

Have fun dancing CB, don't get too competitive! :-D

Was interesting to read your latest blog post...you didn't expect the combat to last that long, and thought that we'd make quick work of the kuo-toa, in spite of the number of hit points they have. What you didn't say is why you thought we had an unexpectedly hard fight! Were our tactics bad or were we simply unlucky? I have some thoughts but I'm curious about yours:)

Hindsight is always 20/20, but I think it all started to go wrong when Brinn threw the monitor into the middle of the group! Maybe he thought the fall would kill it, maybe he thought that would help us to focus fire on it? Suddenly the back-rank spellcasters were having to engage in melee!

What I really enjoy about the size and shape of the terrain is having the ledge, so the fight happens on two levels and it feels very tactical. We have choke-points to try to avoid being swamped, but the caverns are still quite small (mental note for the future - large area effect spells are likely to be less useful in the Underdark) and so the lighting is confined. Maybe some of the cavern edges could have been difficult terrain, is the only suggestion I'd make:)

Thanks, Yavathol. Dance lessons were good. We did a group lesson focusing on the rhumba first (which I enjoyed really a lot because we did turns and position five half-turns mixed into the box step), then had our test. The test consisted of us doing the fox trot and the hustle while the senior instructor observed and made notes. The hustle is easy and loads of fun, I quite like it because I can style with my hands and arms while I'm being spun in a turn. The fox trot is smooth and a little quick, and I like it, too, because the basic steps are very simple and we travel across the dance floor while we do it. I really feel I'm "dancing" when we do those two steps. And, of course, we passed muster. The instructor told us to pick between four and seven dances we want to focus on, and she will build a curriculum for us based on becoming proficient in those dances. We chose swing, waltz (because everyone should know the waltz), tango, salsa, and hustle as our five dances to focus on initially, and then I asked the instructor to give us a price point for adding rhumba and fox trot as well. Shannon asked to learn swing, and I requested tango, salsa, and hustle. We did a lot of fox trot in March during group lessons, and so felt ready to put it to the side to focus on other things. I am looking forward to learning the tango and the salsa. I REALLY WANT TO GO SALSA DANCING. Like, a lot. I want to put on a fabulous pair of heels and something sexy and be taken dancing.

Incidentally, I wore my bondage heels to court today. Jesus, those things are the best. I feel ten feet tall and powerful when I'm wearing them. In my 20s, I never thought I'd be a heels kind of woman, but, damn, am I.

I can confirm that a misunderstanding has occurred, and can clarify that I hadn't imagined overhead tunnels, and didn't think I'd written anything to that effect.

If something I've written is vague and has led to any of you thinking there are such tunnels, let me know and I'll edit.

Sorry -- the fault is mine. I don't mean to be a dope.

When I look at this image, KT 3 and 6 are on the upper level and we were told they fled. They couldn't jump down and flee to the West (we were in the way), and to the Eask is back along where we've come where (I think ) there have been no turn-offs (and so no where to go)..

And there's the ladder/staircase at image. I 13/14.

I actually thought I had had an insight here picking up on clues.

I'll edit my post.
