Precisely because of the image you began with, and its place as the original (and sole) Mage sub-class/specialty, the Illusionist will out-sorcel them all!

Downvote on Evocation because I despise the ubiquitous modern attitude of "I'm a wizard! Cuz I wanna be a blaster. Evoker is the default wizard." Don't know when/why that happened. As with most things I don't understand when/why it happened...must be video games' fault.
