My dex is 18,cha 19. Mainly buff/debuff/some crowd control from a distance. Should i focus on defense or offense when picking a feat?.Should i not worry about doing much damage right now? Or should i just add to points(boring)?

With that Dex, I'd pick up sharpshooter and then grab some archery buffing spells with my secrets at 6th. Or pick up a +1 Cha feat so you have a 20 right off the bat plus something fun. Or inspiring leader if no one in the party has it. (One of the best buffing feats, if not THE best, in the game.)

Considering those stats are already well ahead of the expected power curve; if there is a feat you've been really hankering for, go for that. If nothing really grabs you, pick Luck

If there isn't, then I'd probably use my ASI to bring my Charisma to 20 and also bump up another stat that happens to have an odd number now (priority being Constitution if that would help). Sounds like you don't make weapon attacks that often or mix it up in melee, so it looks like dex is a lower priority.

Funny, i was strongly considering your first 2 options,(Wouldn't SS feat with swift quiver later on be pretty good)? Man, everyone is saying inspiring leader, I just dont want to v.mock all the time while i concentrate on a spell though.

Strangely, we kinja'd each other.
"Well, I just seen red. So I picked up a katana, some people call it a sling blade, I call it a katana, mm-hmm."

No, I get that. You see lore bard, you immediately think support, just because they're so good at it. But they are kind of crap for solid at-will damage. Maybe a dip into Magic Initiate (warlock) to grab greenflame blade and hex? Use a rapier with that 18 Dex and you'll be doing 2d8+4 on your main target, 1d8+4 on an adjacent target at-will, and more if you hex.

What's the rest of your party?

Inspiring Leader is a top feat for any group.

Also you will use less viscous mockery as you level, gaining more slots. And don't forget that you can use minor illusion in combat as well. Just to add a 5' wall to hide behind if nothing else. Or numerous other things like fake orders or the sound of reinforcements.
