Completely. In my opinion, Acquisitions Incorporated has done more to increase sales of the 5e PHB 2 years into the game, than anything discussed in the 477 posts of this topic so far. Anyone disagree?
Completely.
AI is just starting to get big enough that it is boosting the game's popularity, IMO. And they've been around since before 5e launched.
By comparison:
The idea that increased inclusiveness boosts boosts sales is supported by the evidence of the increasingly diverse player base. DnD is t doing the work all on its own. It's part of a growing movement toward diversity in popular media, and it is, in many ways, just catching up. I'm not sure how that could possibly be interpreted as off topic, btw.

As it says, "since before 5e launched."
In fact, AI started during the 4E era, and the first podcasts features a party consisting of three party members: Omin Dran, Jim Darkmagic, and Binwin Bronzebottom. That party went on a few adventures, then were joined by Aeofel the Avenger in further adventures, with Aeofel's first appearance coming into play before the "Avenger" class was even released in the 4e Players Handbook II.
That's a long time to build familiarity and popularity.
IMHO, AI has been furthering the D&D brand since 2009.
A remedy to help you fall asleep quickly.what is Acquisitions Inc?
I don't think AI is a terribly significant factor. I do think it has recently gained enough popularity that it will snowball with other factors and next year will be even bigger for DnD, however.Yes, which is why I said "2 years into the game". The vastly growing popularity of AI in huge swaths of the population outweighs things that may have happened 2 years ago to attract new people.
I am done talking about that topic. At this point you and others are repeating yourselves, with zero evidence, based on your hunches. That topic's been beaten to death, raised from the dead, turned by clerics, disintegrated, and the ashes scattered to the wind. Repeatedly. If you want to talk about it more and more, be my guest. But at this point I feel like it's indulgent virtue signaling. We get it. Your view on this topic has been made abundantly clear. Anyone whose opinion could have been influenced by your view on that subject has already been influenced. I'd like to talk about something else related to the original post now. You are free to discuss Acquisitions Inc, or not. But, I will not indulge you in trying to hijack this aspect of the discussion. I'd like to talk about AI and it's influence on the game sales today. Do you have something to say about that, other than trying to talk about inclusiveness, or are you now a one trick pony for this topic?
If it would help, you can pretend inclusiveness is the #1 reason for the increased sales, and now someone is asking you what you think might be the #2 reason. Do you think AI could be the #2 reason?

No. I'd say that most people who watch that horrible program are people who play D&D anyway and who have been playing for a long time. I think the show has little to no impact 5th edition D&D as a whole. I would say 5th edition would be exactly where it is now had the show never existed.OK fair enough. So do you think it might have influence on, say, this months numbers for sales?
