I think what Wyatt is doing with the Magic worlds is how we will see setting support from the D&D team in the future: lore-rich art books without system assumptions.

You're probably right, but I would like those books to provide some setting specific player character options, so basically these books + the Planeshift guides. And a nice big player-oriented foldout map in the back :)
 




Goodness me, that Amonkhet book looks gorgeous. I'm a big fan of Egyptian-style stuff - I play Tomb Kings in Age of Sigmar - so I'm tempted by whatever that is.
 




Well, in the wake of the first two planeshifts, they did a survey with questions like"would you pay money for a product with Magic rules for D&D?"

Maybe they have an actual 5E Magic RPG at this point?
