Dariana was taken aback by her results, and curious about why she did not qualify for the nature school. She takes a small room with a narrow window that an oak tree grows just outside. She looks at the bow, and wonders if that is all she is meant for. "My path is unclear," she says aloud to the air, "what is my next step?"

Grody spends a little time just wandering the small city. Memories flooding back and looking to see why was different and what was the same. After a while he found that he was tired and hungry. So he set off for a little-used closet he had used in the past. Seeing that it was almost exactly as he had left it last he smiled in relief and sat down to eat a ration. Afterwards, and quite satisfied, he built a little nest behind some broom and mop handles and curled up against a wall to fall asleep.

Late Fall/Evening
Round 0

Asherah watched her blood flare with power and stared in amazement. “What does it mean?” she asked. She at least had access to the arcane college. She hadn’t considered that, as she didn’t know of any magic in her family.

Asherah listened to her scores with interest. The School of Combat and School of Arcane were interested in her, as was the School of the Divine and even Skill, but the others weren’t, with her highest mark in combat. She had never considered being a soldier before. Many in her family were clerics, however.

What did she wish to be?

The professors opened the gates and gave them instructions on getting to their rooms, and then left them to their own devices.

Asherah followed the others to the Tower of Enlightenment and chose a room on the first floor, as Raven had suggested. She was as surprised as the others that the woman had been an older student, a plant, though she was grateful for that fact now that she thought about it, and the encounter with the mouther.

As the time for dinner approached, Asherah went to join the others at Jacques. She fell in with Korlin and Mezzra the drow on the way.

“So that was unexpected,” the tabaxi said with a smile, pushing some of her calico hair out of her green eyes. “Are you happy with the results you received? I admit I was surprised.”

OOC: LOL Denied entry into most of the Wisdom classes other than cleric.

If martial weapons are only learned in Combat school, how does that work with, say, clerics that get martial weapons, or rangers and paladins, also? Or is mixing schools like that expected for those classes?

So thinking Eldritch Knight (Combat and Arcane) with some rogue (Skills) thrown in, and a cleric or paladin level? Or maybe War or Tempest cleric (Combat and Divine) with some rogue (skills) and sorcerer? (Arcane)

What a mish-mash! LOL

OOC: Mixing schools is normal for most classes. If you want to be a cleric with a domain that grants Martial prof, for example, then at least some time needs to be spent in the School of Combat.

OOC: Then you get what you get and you don't throw a fit.

"I am," Mezzra said, "Every woman in my family has been a priestess. If I had not made it in to the School of the Divine, I may have just thrown myself off the tallest tower. It would have been better for me, I think, than to go home and not be a priestess."

"I was hoping to get into more schools," Korlin admitted. "I want to learn everything, but only half the schools took me. I was hoping to get in to the School of Combat most of all, but I apparently didn't impress them. Oh well, I will make the most of it."

The group made their way to Jaques', a pub on Main Street. Main Street itself was full of shops and bars and places to eat. It seemed to be a main hub for the school, where the students could go and chill after their work.

When they got there, Raven had already gotten a large booth for them. As they joined her, she ordered some drinks.

"I'm sure you have a lot of questions about how things work around here," she started. "I'm not a babysitter. Well, ok, I was a babysitter when I got assigned to you, but that was my grandpa's doings. They always send a senior student to make sure the new recruits don't, you know, get eaten by a mouther or anything. I wasn't allowed to interfere with anything unless you were going to die."

"A few things you need to know. There aren't any lesson plans or anything. You go where you want and learn what you want from any of the schools you were admitted to. Learn what you want. If you don't want to learn, nobody will make you. We always have a few who waste time being drunk and never go to class. That's fine. At the end of the year you'll have a Final Exam. It's kind of like the entrance exam, only deadlier. You'll have to survive something gods awful. It's pass, fail, or die. Those are your three choices. Pass and you move on to the next year. Fail and you're sent home. Die and, well, you die.

"Second is your magic. I've never seen a class come in with as much innate magic as this group. Those who's blood indicated you are Arcane Positive may have it awakened if you want. I did. It's not an easy process, and it hurts, but once it's done, some of your innate magic will be revealed. If you want to learn more from that point, the School of the Arcane has teachers who can help develop it. Or, you can just take the little magic that gives you, and go do something else. That's what I did. A little magic helps a lot, but it takes too much study to learn the really big stuff.

"Now that that's done, do you have any other questions?"

[sblock=Mim]
Mim makes his way through the tower, which is full of rooms and corridors. The rooms are mostly empty, with mats and candles in the center. It seems like a place of meditation.

He does find stairs leading up and begins to climb. The winding staircase continues up and up and up and up, almost past the point where Mim can stand it.

OOC: Give me a Constitution Save and a Wisdom Save to see if you have the fortitude, physical or mental, to make it to the top.

After what feels like forever, Mim's legs are nearly turned to jelly. Thankfully, his stubborness, and insane desire to jump from the highest point in the area, keeps him going. Once he gets to the top, however, he is exhausted (one point of exhaustion).

He finds a single door at the top of the stairs, and when he opens it, it reveals a balcony with no railing circling the top of the spire. He is able to see the entire island from here, and it is massive. Beyond it are more islands, which were seen from the ship as he came here. It is a wondrous sight, and the horizon even seems to curve slightly, as if it wasn't as flat as it seemed.

Sitting on the balcony, close to the edge, is what appears to be a human dressed in simple robes. His hair is flaming red and blowing in the chill breeze.

"Wonderful, isn't it?" he says as Mim approaches. "I come up here often to meditate. Something tells me you have something more thrilling in mind," he says with a smile.[/sblock]

Mim hardly glances at the man as he runs past smiling and flings him self off the edge of the building his fatigue is all but forgotten as his body plummets. While soaring Mim thinks about his next move, first he must eat. Then he must hunt down a patron, perhaps the best way to protect those around him was to become dangerous himself and finally Mim needs to talk things through with Barnabus it had been a while, then maybe find a room.
OOC: Sorry I'm AFB 1st exhaustion level is dis adv on str checks? And fades after a long rest?
