D&D 5E Tome of Beasts 2: Electric Beastaloo coming to kickstarter this fall

My first reaction was "meh". Because we have a lot of monster books already, and there's so many other gaps.
But with the big fall book coming from WotC and the Midgard Campaign Setting book due some time this fall as well, crunch might be covered.

And stopping to think a few moments, with WotC unlikely to do another monster product any time soon, there are some noticeable mythological gaps in the number of monsters. (Like the nymph.) And there's a lack of high level threats.
It seems easy to be able to make a book of high CR and classical inspired monsters. Lots of legendary actions and lair actions. There's certainly a need for that.

Yeah, I think there's room for this product. Tentatively excited. Or as excited as I can reasonably be for a non-public Kickstarter that won't release it's book for another year...

Non-public as in "still set to private". It's still in the planning stages, so details like "price" and "release date" are still very much in the air.
The Kickstarter likely won't launch until the fall.

Really, I think it's just an announcement they're working on the product. Since they likely want to have the writing done ahead of time.

Personally, I'm hoping to see a few more Lovecraftian classics. Like the Elder Thing and the Yithian.

There's a few classic monsters that are part of the OGL because of the Tome of Horrors: Complete from Frog God Games. Kobold Press could snatch those up for an update.

Color me excited, ToB was a great product. That said, my latest run in with Kobold Press, Demon Cults and Secret Societies, was a massive let-down which I have been meaning to add to the review section on enworld. So here's hoping they have more hits than misses in this next one.

The original Tome of Beast was fantastic so I am definitely looking forward to seeing what new ideas the Kobold Crew can come up with for the next one.

I wonder if it will be the Tomb of Beasts 2 or if Wolfgang will follow the WotC new name for each book tactic?

Wow I feel just the opposite. I really liked Tomb of Beasts but love the Demon Cults book. Just wish they would use glossy paper...
