I once was murdered by a giant crab when my DM described it as "The pool contains several small crabs" and I said "I stab one with my short sword for breakfast."

They all came out of the pool and murdered me and the whole party. Turns out, by "small" he meant "SIZE SMALL" which is actually a FREAKING ENORMOUS crab.

Our DM wasn't kidding, the boar is SIZE HUGE, not just really big. I've been careful about that, both as a player and a DM ever since.

It really is up to you... both a ranger and druid would help a ton. The druid has better healing so I'm inclined to recommend that but... again, up to you

Obviously we can't have everyone switch their PCs, but I'm glad you found a way forward.
