D&D 5E Reprints I Would 100% Buy (Map Folio)

I love maps, and I would buy a book of them in an instant.

My ideal map book would include one world-map of each published setting, and then a bunch of maps of dungeons (don't fill them with traps and monsters, let us do that), towns, taverns, towers, temples, monasteries, castles, etc.

WotC would be well served to just permanently outsource maps to vendors and give them the rights to make and sell versions with WotC taking their cut. It is one area where they can't have too many out there and if they take no risk, they can just reap whatever profits can be made. If people make maps to sell and can't sell them, it is not their problem.

This is what they do now days. It's what they have almost (?) always done. They hire artists to create the maps. Almost always the artists retain copyright and WotC (TSR, etc) just get a license to use the map.

This is why Schley, Blando et al have their own webstores where you can buy high resolution images of their maps.

It's just that the old stuff was done by previous artists before setting up a webstore was as easy as it is today.

You can print a 2 foot by 6 foot (has white space on borders) at a Walmart photo center for something like $28. Sorry Zaard, not close to you, but its an option for some people.

As a note, I can't overstate how big it was when that World of Greyhawk boxed set and map came out. We went over every hex, and tried to line up every module right where the belonged.
