D&D 5E [5e] QL's Al-Qadim Game

I dunno if I'd call them tanky. They're extremely vulnerable to being focused down; their damage reduction uses their reaction, so more than one incoming attack per round can really hurt them. But! With their mobility from Cunning Action, they can usually skirmish like no one's business.

Ankabut is designed with that in mind. We haven't seen her able to do it yet, but her 'ideal' fight lets her cruise in and out of combat freely, inflicting Wound damage that stacks round by round. I'll be interested to see how that actually works. :)

Well, there was that epic stealth takedown of Derafsh!

I see my plan to lull you all into confidently thinking I am a lily-livered DM easily trounced by high-level PCs is working... ;)

Hahaha! Yeah, with Assassin and Sneak Attack, Ankabut can put a nice little alpha strike down. :)

Being high level definitely lends itself to hubris on the part of the players though. It can be a rude shock when one discovers that there are some pretty tough customers waiting in the monster manuals. :)

Quickleaf question on crafting the Genie Prison. The discription states it takes 20 days to construct. What is considered a day? Salahuddin had started to craft one just before we left Tajar. But he has only been working on it at night before he rests. He has only been working about 2-4 hours each day. Also do the days need to be consecutive or can I stop working on it for a time then start again?

Another question I have the following feature:

Elemental Protection:

At 6th level, you gain protection against elemental forces, granting you advantage on your saving throws against elemental creatures, as well as exposure to flames, waters, winds, or the forces of earth. This also allows you to survive on any of the Inner Planes without the need for spell protection.

Does this grant me water breathing or any other benefits?

The portion in bold is a little vague. The first part makes sense. I get advantage on saves to fire, cold, electricity and the like. But survival on the elemental planes can be subjective. Does it let me fly/levitate on the plane of air? Does it allow me to burrow on the plane of earth? If yes does it allow those same abilities on the material plane?

Catching up on the general thread. I thought the fight went fine, Quickleaf. I didn't recognize the tail swipe and boiling water as being triggered from health. I just thought they were legendary actions of some kind. Either way, I thought they were both well in bounds. I'm always assuming that the DM is working to make an engaging game. Tweak stats, add abilities, etc... Do whatever you think makes the game better for everybody (you included). I'm along for the ride (though if you kill Husam, he would prefer a glorious death). In summary: Good fight. 5/5. Would Action Surge again.
Shayuri, does Husam know you as Amina? I know that's the name your character is going by, but have we been introduced or does he just know you as the handmaiden (though a very talented one after that fight)? I wasn't sure so I posted conservatively as he was talking.

Yes, I'm sure we can assume that Amina was introduced to the newcomers, probably as we left or shortly after departing. She tends to keep to herself tending to Akilah's needs so it makes sense that Husam may have overlooked her up until this point.

Ancalagon I try not to look at other folks character sheets so that I don't metagame (It also saves me the frustration of screaming at the screen, "Not that spell, the other one!). That said, I looked back at your attacks. That was a solid round, man. Husam's numbers may look high, but that was from an Action Surge and the fire damage from the magical sword (which didn't even hurt the beastie). I think Husam may have a slightly higher average damage per round from his extra attack, but Lal should be a better tank with rage. I think you're right where you should be. When fights go longer than two rounds, I think you'll see your durability really come into play.
